Taking the car to the dealer on Monday for them to fix a loose cig lighter, and I figured I might as well get them to replace the strut mount bushings while the car is still under factory warranty. Mine are bad, right? Car has 25k miles on it. Does anyone know the TSB number for the strut mount bushings collapsing?

Don't know the TSB but I must say they are the worst I've seen.

Good luck! Mine are as bad as those and both a Chevy and a Caddy dealer went through the TSB and said they are fine because they don't klunk or make other noise. I will install some poly bushings when it warms up around here.

Crazy. I hope they fix mine......and if not it better start clunking before my warranty goes out in September lol.

Mine were replaced by dealer without any problems. But i know i'll need to replace them again since the same failed part from GM was used... But it was worth it at the time since warranty covered it.

Those are slightly compressed, but they aren't that bad. Here's mine before replacement.

And after, albeit before putting the car all the way back down. It's resting on a ramp shortly after installation in this photo.

But you know how much difference I noticed in driving going from A to B?

Nada. NOTHING.

If you start getting a knock from the front end, look into it. Until then, happy motoring!

:uhm: Help Help Help This is all new to me, I have an 09 G8 Gt with the premium sports package 19 inch wheels. Im looking for a brake upgrade. I found a company on Ebay that sells a set of slotted and dimpled rotors with ceramic brake pads. But i am also looking to upgrade my calipers. Can anyone help? Also looking to add a Cold Air Intake can anyone suggest a certain brand over another. I upgraded all my lights to HID and got rid of my stock mufflers and added an x pipe and straight pipes with a Helmholtz resonator. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mine are also real bad, but the dealer says they are OK. Every once in awhile the car will "pull" to the right but they still won't replace. O well..warranty over. Good luck OP, I'd tell them the car pulls, makes noise, etc... ;)

Well dang. No abnormal symptoms with mine so I may be out of luck. And if I tell them a fib they will probably drive the mess out of my car to try and get it to make a noise. So.....I will just be honest about it lol.

Oh and eldolon, thanks for the pics!

Nothing in your paragraph has anything whatsoever to do with the topic of this thread. If you want help with your car please just start your own thread lol.

Yah, the pulling I believe is due to the crap bushings moving off center. Mine are shifting and I can feel a loss in steering/tracking precision but not bad yet. Your once in a while pulling means they are really moving. Better get them replaced.

My advice would be to click the "start thread" button at the top of the page...you won't get much response by jacking Dave's thread...

And welcome to the forum! :)

Mine look like Eidolon's before pics, so I took it in and said it was making a noise. They couldn't duplicate the noise, so they didn't do anything. I might try to take in before/after pictures and see if that works.

Can someone help me figure my problem out. I just put 19" on my car and now my wheel shakes at 45-50 mph. Is that because i need an alignment still? Or could could it be the strut bushing are bad now as mine look like the 1st photo now. Gonna take car to see about rebalancing tires but if thats not the problem should I do the alignment or is this the struts? Any help would be helpful.

if it didn't shake with your old tires and wheel, the shake is form the new ones.

The G8 is very sensitive to front wheel balance. Most places and machines are not as precise as they need to be.
