Will tunning stop top speed of140mph

Yes, my top speed is set at 225 MPH. I try to keep her below half that tho.

160+ is pushing it without any suspension help, but it can be done with a tune only.

Mine has no limit now after the tune, but I imagine you can have it set at whatever speed you like. Try a buck sixty!

My limit is what it will do in the 1/4 mile. But, to answer your questions, yes you can adjust your top speed limiter with a tune.

He's right. Thing start to get a little "dicey" much above that. My personal best with an GPS-based recorder was 181 and I do not want to do it again without major suspension and brake work

Yea mine was also set there. Not sure why some are different, unless the dealer changes it for some insurance reason.154 is fastest I've had mine.

128 is my current land speed record. I doubt I'll ever top that unless at a private track of some sort. The car was great / very solid - it was the possibility of Johnny Law that has me not wanting to break the record.

Not exactly the same as what he's got in his car, as this is the LS7, but you get the idea.


The Vette LS7 is 7.0L which works out roughly to 427ci.

Unfortunately, few of us want to put in a roll cage for such an event. I would LOVE to take my GTO to one of these (or the G8, for that matter)...but I have NO interest in doing something like that to these cars. Now, if I EVER get around to building my '65 2+2 Mustang, that car will have a full road course type cage.

heh fastest ive ever been in my own car was 146 in my e36 325i also on a60 headin to bitburg from spangdahlem. Fastest ever tho was friends srt4 @178 on a1 from frankfurt. g8 fastest prolly 100 :( nowhere round here to get it up too many cops in this tourist town.
