Can't wait to get my hands on this bad boy. I will install within a couple days of taking delivery.
I was on the fence a long time about the 3.27 vs the 3.45, but at the end of the day having usable traction on the street won out for me.
While a 3.27 vs a 2.92 is not a huge bump, I think it will make a nice impact on how well my car pulls and track times.
I will be watching this thread. Please update with results!!

Congrats.... you will be very happy... you will feel the difference!!!!
I did the same thing. It makes the car feel lighter. You will like it.

people say if its not .5 or more its not worth it I say when your as high geared as we are from the factory anything is noticable and worth it. I'm starting to lean more towards 3.27s also since i'm always on the interstate

For those that upgraded to 3.27's, how did it impact your gas mileage when you behaved?

I also will have a 3.27 LSD Camaro SS diff going in with Circle D Stall 3200-3400 and Transmission from an Camaro SS, B&M Trans Cooler, since GM voided my warranty because of the dealer saying my Oiled air filter cause my Tans Flare and slip. Should be installed by next Friday.

yes how is this on gas? and thru the trap would the car shift into 4 or stay 3 without hiring rev limiter mine right now hits twice before I pass through

You'll need to adjust the tune for the shifts. When I took my g8 on hrpt I got a best of 23.5 mpg and an overall avg of 19.
I'm around 440 to wheels with a 3200 stall.

I didn't fair so well with the mileage. I averaged 19.6 on my way back from Ricks house. On my commute to work I am actually up in mileage a little bit. However, Rick changed my tune quite a bit and said it should be better in rush hour.

The difference between the two is so close, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. That's a .18 in ratio difference. It's .35 from 2.92 to 3.27, almost double, much more noticeable.
Did you ever feel the difference between 3.73 and 3.90? That's the difference from 3.27 to 3.45. It only matters if you want to dial in the RPM at the stripe...

I don't use drag radials, and probably won't since I am just a causal racer. I just don't want to roast the tires on the street like I have heard so many people do with the 3.45. The 3.27 should actually help my MPG's with my daily commute to work so it is a win win. Just have to get the tune taken care of once I get em.

My point was, you couldn't tell the difference between the two ratios.
If you would roast the tires with 3.45s, you'll roast them with 3.27s.
Don't kid yourself. There are no magic beans...

I run a 285 out back and i dont roast the tires at all now. Barely spins now, where with the stock rims and tires i would. I dont imagine i am going to blow the tires off at will now with the 3.27, but i do expect some spinning, just not leaving stripes throuugh the gears.
Man George you dont have to crush my dreams lol.

Anybody can roast the tires if they want, a lot of this is controlled by the driver.
FYI, I lost about 1mpg with the 3.45s.
Congrats on the great deal!

Okay maybe I should give my definition of "Roasting Tires" to clear up any confusion as to what I am talking about. For ME, roasting tires is going from a dead stop, or a very slow roll, and just spinning the tires all the way through a gear into the next. My car does not do that with the 285's I run. Sure it will spin for a brief moment, but it will then grab and barely chirp 2nd gear sometimes, with the 285 I run out back.
When I had stock rims and tires I could light it up all the way through first and half way through 2nd before grabbing on the street. It would spin bad going into second at the track. With even more power, and the 285 tire I run out back I rarely even chirp the 1-2 shift at the track, and on the street she is hit or miss with a 1-2 chirp and grabs quickly.
Again, I went with a 3.27 because I wanted to controll the street manner's to a point, and not just light up the tires completely. Once again I am running a 285 out back so I shouldn't have the problems that some 3.45 owners have with traction if they are still on 245's. That's all I'm trying to say.
Sure I may not have a feel a seat of the pants difference from a 3.27 to a 3.45, but the way the car hooks may have a tangible difference. Just like the 3.55 mustangs vs the 3.73 mustangs I have scene first hand at the track on numerous occasions. The slight difference seems to make a big difference on street tires.

I bought them from a Camaro5 Supporting vendor that was selling a 3.45 diff with 100miles on it for $480 shipped. I missed that deal by one post, but I PM'ed him and asked him if he had any others, and he told me that he had a personal from his car that was never installed. He blew up his stock rear diff and had it replaced under warranty, but never installed as he picked up a beefy after market rear end. I really got lucky.

It is coming with bushings, but I haven't thought about upgrading the bushings. Will I really notice a difference with just the Diff bushings and no rear cradle bushings?

it will be cheaper to add the bushings now then to take apart later and add them.

I'm installing everything for the cost of free, but I just want to know how big of a difference the bushings in terms of feel.

Its not so much the feel as the function my exhaust is .75-1 inch away from the rubber piece on the driveshaft and with the factory bushings the rubber piece would rub the exhaust under high loads. that movent is very bad for the life of your center section gears and diff. with the BMR bushings there is no movement. So there is less strain or flex on the rearend as a whole

Ok I see it is "free" but is labor ever free? I know my time is valuable. Nothing worse then taking something apart 2 months from now a "wasting" a day to add the bushings. I have them in a box and have not done them personally but the oem bushings are not stiff and allow slop. I have seen your videos and it would serve you well do do them

May as well just do the rear subframe bushings while you are in there if you do the diff bushings. Much easier too....

I just ordered the pro bushings from Kyle at BMR.

From Nov-Feb I drive out to Sacramento Raceway. The track condition is horrific, but at least it is open. Starting in March I spend most of the year at Infineon Raceway.
Gilroy is a pretty long way from both tracks. You should definitely come out to infineon for one of the Wed Nite Drags though.

Each diff will be a little different on quantity, but I used 1 Qt Amsoil 75-90 Severe Gear with 2.5 oz of Amsoil Slip Lock modifier.

I went with Royal Purple 75-90 with the LSD additive already added. Seen way too many posts on the camaro forum with people having good results to not try it. Amsoil is cool too, just wanted a one bottle solution.

I did for about 5 seconds and though it wasn't that big of a deal. My car will more than likely never see drag radials and 99.9999% of the time I am just chugging along in traffic.

Amsoil contains Slip Lock in its Sever Gear as well. Most people report not needing extra. I decided to throw it in so I didn't have to drain any gear oil out to replace with additive in the event mine was one that needed a little more :) I believe it calls for 1.1 Litres.
