Paul,

Is that like the Kiwi version of the V8 Super Car series?

We sent them 20 LS7 crate engines last month and just sent a batch of dry sump tanks.

I saw the name and started to wonder.

Hi Greg,
The Kiwis have had their own version of V8Supercars Series for about 15 years now.
http://www.nzv8s.co.nz/circuit/6/2/Pukekohe.htm
The cars are a lowrent version of the Aussie V8SC's......Kiwis use carbys and a 4 speed trans. Keeping costs down seems to be a main objective. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_V8s

This Kiwi SuperTourers Series http://www.v8st.co.nz/ is something entirely new.
Interesting they have gone with LS7 as the powerplant for the new series.
There's talk on their website of "Challenge" events as a future possibility....where they'd have former Aussie V8 SC's racing alongside the new LS7 spec Tourers. Seems like a good idea because at the end of 2012 there will be piles of current spec V8SC's being dumped as all the teams move to COTF 2013 new spec in Aussie V8SC.

Nice sale but I think they were right around cost. It's all about the backend money ;)
Thanks for the info Paul. I was wondering why they were getting the 7.0L engines

Dumped from the V8SC series....they can filter down into Fujitsu series (until such time as they become obsolete there also)....then maybe to the Kiwi V8SC if they are still operating.....then down to local circuit racing/sports sedan classes etc.

If you like obsolete stuff then check out www.my105.com

Paul,
Do you think this is a good move by V8SC series? I know it will save money and all, but I like a door slammer with most of its running gear as a race car. COT is a bastardization of everything sacred to stockcar fans. I wanna' see MY car run, not some distributor concept car who has paid big bucks to the sanctioning body to get the prime vendor contact. The sanctionaing body and the vendor get to make the big bucks then, and everyone else is outside the loop. Not good for V8 supercars, but good for the Bernie Ecelstone's of the world.

Ummm the COTF in Aussie V8Supercars is no great departure from where they already are.
As it stands now there's only about 2 parts on the entire car that you could go and buy from a Holden or Ford dealership. There's probably only less than 5 companies who make all the rolling shells and another less than 5 who screw together all the engines.
