Anyone know?
Based upon distance from starter motor, amps required; to prevent voltage drop, 0 ga.( Welding wire)

Agree it should be but I need to splice a section in using a butt type connector so I have to be certain if that's what it is.

Most factory cables are 2-4. Not exactly sure on ours, but if you are making something I would use 0-2 gauge.

I'm wanting to put in a disconnect switch due to IHRA rules requiring it at 9.99. In order to do so I'll have to cut the cable prior to that goofy fuse thing at the positive terminal and splice in a section to run to the switch and back. I know its smaller than 1/0 because I have a ground cable of that size and I can see its smaller but can tell how much :/ My caliper is busted.

Ah, that is kind of what I thought. Make sure you kill ALL the power or it won't shut off. Had to fix a stang last year because the master disconnect would not kill the car. The alt will keep it running. You have to be sure the ignition is instantly killed since the fuel will allow it to run for a few seconds as well.

Yea, gotta use a special switch, Moroso makes one, and the alt wire has to be tied in too. My tuner knows how to do it.

I did use a trick Flaming River one on that stang. I took out the reverse light bulb and drilled a hole and put a grommet for the push/pull rod to go through. I have used the Moroso one and it has always worked like a champ. :)

I prefer the twist type to the push-pull.

Me too. He didn't want to drill anything into the body since it was a fairly rare Stang. Now the car has a cage so not sure why we did so many stealth things that could be removed without ever telling. lol

That's understandable. I'm way beyond stealth myself :)
Where's our super measuring expert Ray?

Don't forget that I remember back to the "I am only doing a few basic mods" days. hahaha

Wow, that's an awful nice offer Ray! It'd be easier to measure the cable for me though ;)

Sometimes I think if I'd had any sense I would have sold the G8, around the time I put the blower on it, and bought a big block Vega or something. Sure would have been cheaper and easier to go very fast. On the other hand, the stuff I've learned and experiences I've had running such a unique car are priceless to me. I expect I won't be changing cars any time soon.

Still, pm me your address. That way you can do it yourself next time. Are you going to wait until Friday?
Here's my schedule. I'll be on the road the next 3 days. I might be able to get it tomorrow night.

GM lists it at a 50mm Red wire. So a little smaller than 0 awg (52mm)

Of course it wouldn't be standard AWG. Thanks Greg!

We my not have officially adopted it, but damn near everything is engineered in metric these days.
