Well folks, they day came when I had to sell my beloved G8 :bye:

It came to the point where the doors would rattle & squeek, the front suspension was vibrating like a Harley, mileage was on the very low side
and in Montreal(Canada), winter driving is not recommended with a RWD.

So I did the impossible and sold my G8 for a 2012 Buick Regal GS.

I will miss my Commodore and hopefully the day will come in 2014-ish when Holden will bring back the Commodore with an SS badge overhere !

SO my friends the time has come, I will still remain a member of the GRRRR8 forum and fellow G8/Commodore owners ... still can`t sleep at night thinking my baby is
with someone else .... the Dealership`s owner`s wife !!!

Cheers mates !

Sad to see you go. I sat in the '12 GS at the Autoshow and really like it. I'm thinking that may be my new DD. I have to replace the old Saab. How are you liking it?

We all have our reasons when moving from one car to another. I think your new ride will be better for the snow. Hope you enjoy it for years to come.

Love the GS...great driver. Glad to see you picked the GS - what color / options / MT or AT?

Dang. Sorry to see you leave the G8 owners crowd. :( The GS is a nice car. Looks good, and I'm sure it's comfy. My only complaint about it is that GM tried to market it to us Pontiac guys as an actual replacement for the G8. It's not the same kind of car at all. Let it stand on its own merits and it's fine. But it's not the same kind of car as the G8.

I gotta get a rib in, though...

So you can't drive it in the snow, but the dealership's owner's wife can?

Too bad we didn't get a chance to get together in the fall. The GS is certainly a nice car and will be great in the snow. I've already been stuck once this winter and am sure that it will happen again - the only thing keeping me from cursing at it is that I know once the pavement warms up and all of the summer cars come out my G8 will pay me back tenfold!

Good luck with the new ride!

i'll be honest - if the regal gs had awd, i would be in that instead of the g8

I'm pretty sure they are making it in awd soon. The Opel/vauxhaul has it.

I was looking at the GS for a new daily driver and drove one as well. I really liked it but couldnt get an automatic yet and got a deal I couldnt pass up on a new 2011 hemi charger. I think I would have really liked the GS.

One of the reasons that my wife replaced the Fusion with a CTS is that they are AWD cars.

The GS isn't on the list because it's not available with AWD.

I'm pretty sure that the regal GS was supposed to be AWD..but like everything..GM had to fag it up.

George, you are correct. However, the Buick Regal COULD have come equipped that way. But as we all know, the "management" of GM said, "Sorry, no way."
