I think all after markets are the same way. At least all the ones I've seen are.

It also won't start if the hood or any door or trunk is opened.

I was trying to get the car to start the other day while the hood was open. Took me a bit to figure out what the deal was.

Will it shut off if you rev the engine to far or hit the brake before inserting key? Mine would do that.
