Hi all. I've never seen the underside of my G8GT (or any GM car),
but I'm ordering the oil and filter (8 qts. redline 5-30 and K&N HP-1017)

Can I assume that when I get under the car, I'll see one sump,
and one bolt to remove, and will I see the oil filter too? To
what torque should I retighten the drain plug?

thanks,
Joe

PS: anyone have some pictures?

18 ft lb for the drain plug.
The drain plug is on the side.

Much thanks. Looks like a monkey could do it,
so I have a chance too. You even showed the
suitable jacking points.

Joe

If some of the lube techs I saw when at the dealer could do it...

You don't need to torque the drain plug. If you decide you want to, it's the best way, but a simple snugging it decent will do.

Side mounted drain plugs suck so bad.......First oil change on the G8 and the plug slipped from my fingers and I watched oil shoot 4' across my garage floor! Lol!
