I've got a deal put together on this car, just wondering if the previous owner is on here or if anyone knew the history. Not that there is much, car only has 5000 miles.

Everything but a sunroof. In the best color too. Make sure you get all the keys.

Ask why the tires were replaced with only 5k on the car. Otherwise she looks like a keeper.

Very Nice I bet the tires were dry rotted or were spun to the cords, lol

I figured it would be a long shot to find the previous owner on the forum, but thought it was worth a try. Oh well!

Tires were replaced because of dry-rot, according to the dealer. He said the guy who traded it in never drove it and it sat in a garage for awhile. Not sure that makes sense to me, but that's what he said. It does have all the keys. I'm buying this car sight-unseen, so hopefully everything is good. Check and paperwork were overnighted to the dealer yesterday, and I have a shipping company scheduled to pick it up Friday and bring it to it's new home in Phoenix. Crossing my fingers that there's no issues, I'm pretty confident but I've never bought a car without seeing it before!

my original 19" sport rims & tires have been off my car since 3k miles. They been sitting in my basement.. No dry rot there.
I feel this dealer is trying to pull some shit.

Good luck with the purchase! Hopefully it was NOT beat to hell for the 5k miles.

This is my only concern. Tires can dry rot in 2-3 years when not used and kept in the sun and heat, but according to the sales guy the previous owner kept it garaged. PA weather + in the garage/shade does not equal tire dry rot. We'll see I guess.

The michelins on our mini-van are getting some dry rot and it gets used everyday and tires are <2 years old...

The sales guy I talked to at the dealer seemed like a stand-up guy, at least the little bit that I could gather from talking to him on the phone. I would not have purchased from someone that I sensed bad ju-ju from :P I'm guessing/hoping that they just have high standards for their used cars. Either way, I should know in a week or so :)

I feel it will be alright. You purchased one hell of a car for the $$. Hopefully you got some $$ of that price.. but it seems like our G8s have been holding their value so at least you know its money well spent. ;)

She's officially on her way! My sales guy just sent me these pics :) I was a little nervous about who was going to end up hauling it, but this guy has two Chrysler 300's, a Range Rover, Lexus, and I think I see a BMW hiding in there somewhere. That makes me feel a little better.

Enjoy! The original Potenza summer tires did dry rot on a handful of G8's. Mine being one. There are some threads on here archived probably...

Congrats! That was fast!

Yeah I agree Sport Red is a nice shade. The dealer where I purchased my White Hot only had that color in a GXP.

I'll do a search, that would make the tire change make sense. Thanks!

It was listed at 28k, we ended up at 27.5k. Probably could have talked them down more but I'm not good at playing hardball.

Will post more pics when it gets here, should be Mon or Tue.

Arrived yesterday. Inspected the car and signed off to no damage....then saw this later. I have no idea how we missed this, both my wife and I looked over the car. I think the roof may have been the only place we missed. I may try to contact the driver today, but I'm sure since I signed the release he'll tell me he can't help. Will see if my insurance will cover. I'm pissed, mostly at myself for missing this. Looks like he set the upper rack down on the roof at some point.

So sorry to see that. I've had minor damage done to a vehicle when it was at the dealer. I forgot to check out the car before I left. Got home and noticed a dent in the right side rocker. Hope it's not too much trouble getting it repaired.

Sorry to hear about this. I have looked at a car really close(so I thought) only to see it later.

It happens to the best of us. When I bought my G8 I was so excited, did a quick walk around and drove her home. When I got home I inspected her with a comb and found a few problems with the passenger side of the car. Needless to say the dealer took care of me.

It sucks, but you get her fixed.

Sorry to hear about this. The driver had to have felt and heard it happen.

The tie downs on that side might of been loose or came loose in transport and with movement hit the upper rack. Most likely the driver did notice but too late. You should still get with transport....That sucks......
I took my car in to the dealer for an alignment and when it was up on the rack i noticed a big scratch on the rear bumper cover. They fixed it with no problem. Best of luck.

Ouch! Sorry to see that. Even though you signed off to no damage, it still might be worth your time to contact the transport company and see if they'll work with you.

I called the driver and he asked me to send pictures, I think he is trying to contact his insurance to see if he can help. Also spoke with my insurance, if he won't cover it they will fix it as a comprehensive claim, so most I'm out is $250. That's good news, I was expecting to have to pay out of pocket when I saw it last night. Got an estimate of $1700 to fix.

That dealership is about 50 miles from me, they have a very good reputation, if they say the tires were dry rot, I would believe them. Just a FYI
