With in 100 miles of pouring in some zMax engine treatment, My check oil light went on, and engine code started then and still throwing codes for Oil pressure sending unit. Did a oil change and reset the oil light, following oil changing instructions, but still took another 150 miles before oil light finnaliy quit coming on....... Engine code is still being thrown, even after Battery disconnect for 30 minutes. Look slike I will be buying a oil sending unit. $42.00 and PIA to replace. Zmax people says it was just a coincidence that this all happened after pouring thier product in my engine. Yeah Right, then blamed it on my Modifictaions that have not changed in 30k miles....

I know, why did I add that shit..... I had hit 80k miles, and just wanted to help preserve my engine......... WORSE $25.00 I have ever spent. And all this crap happened as I was getting ready to go on a road trip..... screwed that up.

Zmax can kiss my ass!

Just use a a very good engine oil, Royal Purple, Amsoil, Mobil 1 is all you should have to do. Or look up what 44K has to offer to add to your oil.

There is nothing an engine needs that a good quality engine oil doesn't provide. Additives are usually harmless and just as often they are useless. Sorry to hear that the first wasn't true.

Let me add Redline to that list, too. It's what I'm running in my car.

I also run amsoil and send in oil samples very often. I'd like to add castrol syntec to the list as well i ran it for the first several oil changes and the oil samples were great. I had also was going 10,000 mile intervals and the oil was sampling great and still useable everytime i changed it.

While we're at it I might as well give a nod to Castrol Edge which has been treating me very well.

Back a few months ago when I was going thru all the engine lifter cam shaft crap and when they finally decided to replace the engine all the techs were asking me what oil I used and told the Royal Purple and they were all stuned becasue when they had the engine torn apart there was no sludge of any kind in the engine and besides the purple sheen it was like brand new. I was dropping the oil and filter at 8-9K and yes it was all high way miles which took me about a month and a half to rack those miles.

The main thing is you have to get the engine up to normal temp so it does not get any condensation inside the engine from short trips and city driving which is the worst you can do to a car but what can most drivers do besides drop the oil and filter more often and use a high quality engine oil. Oil and filters are cheap verses a new engine. Food for thought!

I have always ran Castrol Syn with 3500 mile changes, just thought I was being nice to my engine, kind of like giving the dog a treat. Anyhow, I changed out the Oil Sending unit and all is good so far. Which was a little PIA since I had to remove the BMR strut tower bar, and intake. The old oil sending unit was a clean as the new one.

FYI oil sending unit takes a deep 27mm socket to remove.......

I use Royal Purple oil and Royal Purple oil filter. No need for other additives. Hope you get your issue resolved.

Amsoil for all fluid here, or Pennz oil synthetic when in a pinch....I strongly believe in Amsoil and to a lesser eextent Pennz oil too
