I'm in if two things happen.

1) The Vararam is more than .25 quicker than the RotoFab I already have.
2) Vector retunes our cars as an upgrade tune [like they did with my headers] for free
or a small fee.

There's no way I'm going to spend $400 for another CAI and another $375 to have my car retuned to make the vararam work correctly.

.25 is a large gain over another CAI. I can't see the tune for the roto-fab and the Vararam being much different.

But if the Vararam is $100 more, IMHO is not worth it. If we get a 25 person GP going it should be a huge discount, IMHO.

Wait and see, I guess.

Well to be honest based off of the Vette guys reviews of this intake we should be in for a suprise... all we can do is wait and hope this kit actually does net .3-.5 secs in the 1/4 mile. I know im anxious :)

The info I got from Vararam indicated $379 retail. I suggest we work through one of the forum sponsors to negotiate a lower price for a group of firm orders. Times are tough, I need a better price.

Your saying the vettes pick up 3 to 5 tenths of a second over other intakes or the stock setup? That seems like a lot for an intake. I'm staying with my spectre and spending the money on a tune. If you guys buy a new intake everytime one comes out, you'll be able to have a shelf in your garage just for intakes. Kinda like trophies, just set around and collect dust. Charlie, you being the host it seems a little too much to be promoting a product over others. Shouldn't you let someone else take that responsibility and not be biased to one product. Are they even a sponsor? Just my opinion.

I'm sure Charlie wants whichever product makes his car go faster. He also seems to have a hand in getting this product done, and even testing it out.

I'm sure they'll become a sponsor once the product is released, it would be silly to become beforehand.

Exactly! I talked to Patrick in the very begining and NEVER called him again. I knew this was going to take time and we had 3 holidays since the conversation. The process is he makes a piece, sends it local to be made and then tests it. If he doesnt like it, start over. Well just because he worked all through the holidays doesnt mean the plastics company did. I completely understand. If you look at other CAIs from time of talk to pics to release, they are on schedule. Considering a version is on a G8 already (not mine), I think they are all over it.

This will be my first modded car in about 25 years. I'm a little lost as to what is a good bang for the buck, don't want anything too radical, just a great strong daily driver. I'm one of those waiting for a GXP and my first mod will be a set of gauges. I the look of dede's/JHP but I don't care for the price, so, I hope someone comes up with nice affordable package.

So a tune is REQUIRED for the intake, or it improves the performance in conjunction with the intake?

I've seen some say it's required with the Vararam.

That's what is keeping me on the maybe list. I just can't afford a tune as well right now.

A tune is not required but is recommended to get the optimum performance. But my car was running just fine for almost 7000 miles with the prototype and no tune.

Almost $400.00? Not even $330.00 on the group buy. How much data did we get with all the others? NONE They have 2 production models done and I will post plenty of real world data on a modded car once I get mine. I dont see the reason for the comment though. I guess if I was running mid 13s I would be looking for a big improvement also.

Sponsors and products will come and go as will people on these forums. Did you get your gxp yet? Hope you get a good deal when you do.

Its only $400... and if its junk I will move on to something else but wont know until I try it myself! I was negative about it at first and hell im still on the fence but again its only money! I know I was just using $400 as a high number... either way its not bad for an intake! If you want a $100 intake they have them on ebay :) dont forget car part are like everything else... you get what you pay for (well most of the time that is)

Gotcha. Not every part is for every person and thats cool. Some would say I am crazy for going for the 11s with no blower. Some would say thats bad ass. Its the questioning or bad mouthing a product that a person hasnt even tested or seen tested that pisses me off.

Not to go off topic but there are some N/A Commodores in the 11s. They have manuals but with the TQ converter, you should get into the 11s.

It's bad ass.

I'm back, just having a little fun like people have with me in the past. Charlie, I hope you get in the 11's without a blower, mine may not run as fast as yours, but, I have just as much fun. I know what its like to go fast, so at 57 I'm fine with what I have and if I want to go fast I've got the funds to do it, I just choose not to at this time. I've been pissed off plenty of times, but, as adults we get over it. G8 Ray and I have had our tiffs, but, life goes on and I don't think I ever made any harse comments about anyones car on this forum or anyother forum. Getting personal about each other just makes things worse. Questioning any product should be good, it should make people think about what they are buying. Just out of curiousity, will the list at the beginning be updated? If we may only get 50 in the first shipment, I would like to know where I stand.

Note: I have no idea how many will be in the first shipment, but 50 seemed like a good number.
