After giving it a Adams bubble bath I was detailing the engine and decided it was Mod time for the company Ford Explorer.
I took the foam engine cover off to expose the massive V6 gutless engine. It looks much better with the foam cover off.
As you can see the Black Rat in the garage wondering what the hell is in front of it, lol

It is pretty nice. The Sync system is cool but it has no power. Very quiet, no exhaust sound to listen to with the Explorer, lol It has already 550 miles on it I picked it up Tuesday, nice company vehicle for sure.
Here is my mod to the Explorer:

It is nice to give the Holden a nice rest, will be my perfect day car and maybe a run to Corpus for the day here and there.

Yes its sideways, most of the all wheel drive ones are sold north of Texas.
Be had to put a set of Kooks Long tubes on it I think, lol

Explorers are no longer truck based. They are basically a tall Taurus.

That's a nice company car, even though they did away with the V8.

I started likeing the way they look. Expescially when they pulled the truck frame from them. I would imagine it rides smooth. Just didn't know about the engine being sideways...what no eco boost....

Hell I had to do something to it at least. Maybe it will go faster now without the engine cover, not.

Na that does not sound fun.
Remember this is a company vehicle. How about a Adams sticker on the back?

No direct offense to the OP whatsoever. It is nice to have a free company car regardless of what it is. But with that said...
Motor is faceing the wrong way ?¿
OMG what the heck!?! So much for the Explorer having the U in SUV. I have been out of the country for a long time so this is the first real news I have seen of these new Explorers!
Explorers are no longer truck based. They are basically a tall Taurus.
So it is basically a crossover. Crossovers are about 1/2 step above a full on minivan.

I completely agree. What the hell was Ford thinking?!?? That is not a real Explorer as far as I am concerned and looks pretty ugly IMO. It looks like the sort of vehicle that a person would buy who doesn't want to admit to themselves that they secretly wanted a minivan. They probably cannot even manage to go over an ant hill without getting stuck. :facepalm2: As a long time Explorer enthusiast that currently owns 2 of them I am really surprised and disappointed by the new Explorers. I am sure it is a great vehicle OP and I am sure the interior and creature comforts are great but the direction Ford chose to take with that model seems to really have departed from what the Explorer always has been which was a viable general utility vehicle with decent off pavement abilities.

My wife likes hers, only complaint is that the headlights arent bright enough. Its a nice crossover.

It is not to bad.
I drove a dodge mini van when my engine took a dump a few months ago for a hour and I felt like a LOOSER in it.
My Holden gets a lot better fuel mileage than the V6 in the Explorer.
Its free. I asked for a Vette and that was shot down, :(

Congrats on the new Ford. GM's seen the last of my money (yeah, I'm still pissed about them dropping Pontiac)...Wanting to give Trigger a little rest during the week (80k in 3.5 years) I got a new Ford as well.
2012 Escape Limited V6 AWD, and she actually has some decent engine noise in the cabin. Kinda startled me hearing it so clearly, sounded like it had a Rotofab installed. Granted it's probably the same puney V6, but the smaller SUV moves a bit quicker when pressed. There is gear whine (worse than the G8 ever had) in 6th gear between 50 and 60 mph...which is the case with all the other Escapes....already drove a couple to verify.
You got the 7 color LED's with your Ford? Back up camera?
Night time pictures always turn out so well for me :(
