View Full Version : knockin on 12s cold air/tune only....

Well we took the wifes car out this past Friday. She made one successful hit and she went a 2.04 60ft and ran a 13.04@106.9 MPH. Mods on the car are Vararam and a Tune. This was done in Houston,Texas on 10/28/11 at approximately 8pm full weight on street tires. Nothing was touched not even the tire pressure.

What is the fastest cold air/tune ONLY G8 GT?

That is impressive! There was one at the track friday that ran a 13.0x @ 107.xx that was an intake/tune only car. My wife talked to him about it.

yeah they seem to run very well. She made an attempt to better but for some reason the 2-3 shift wouldn't hit. The transmission was pretty cold though due to cool down time and the staging lanes moving quicker than we expected. I am wanting her to break 12s before I do any REAL modifications.

well I would assume thats probably due to your 20'' wheels. We are on the GT 18'' wheels. It doesn't hurt that my wife is about 115-120lbs.

My best time was 12.83 with the mods I mentioned and the 18's on. The adjusted DA brings that to 12.99...I still think your time is awesome!

Nice times! My car ran a 13.08@107 last year with only a Superchips Cortex tune. Getting the car out of the hole is the biggest issue without spinning,I managed a 1.94 60', so if she could get down to even a 2.00 60' you should have your 12.99.

Tugboat (i think that's it) has the fastest tune-only GT at 13.02.

I have a GXP midpipe I may modify for now. I want to get it in the 12s before long tubes. I have plans to put some pacesetters on it with a mandrel bent xpipe. The reason for the Pacesetters is I plan to unload the G8 sometime next year for a CTS-V.

Yep i was able to go 12.99 no just the mods listed above... and 12.73 in better weather with lt's
