View Full Version : Exhaust Tip Recomendations

I got our G8 gt a couple weeks a go. Love the car, but the exhaust tips are really bugging me. They are oxidized badly and I cant get them to look good. I'd like to get them changed out.

Id like to do large single tips instead of the dual factory ones, but I want them to follow the contour of the bumper. Anyone know of a good tip? Something tapered and rectangular with rounded edges and a rolled lip would be ideal. Pics are appreciated if you have something similar on your ride.

I've seem 2 sets of larger rectagnular tips. and after a while they looked odd. Now if they were trapizoidal like the cutouts are, I think it would look better.

otherwise on the polishing the OE ones. I used Mothers metal polish (jar) and about 1 hour of elbow grease. worked like a champ.

They are SS so they will clean.

I think this is what Im going for. Its the SLP trapazoid tip.

The slp tips look great. Also, Solo Performance has tons of options. If you buy one of their systems from us we can usually throw them in for no extra charge!

I don't like the dual tip look either, thats why I bought SLP's loud mouth exhaust kit. I really like how the trapazoid tip fills in the bumper.

In the mean time while you're looking for new ones, while I do like Mothers Polishes, for your tips with excellent resu and less elbow grease and time, try using "Nevr-Dull, it's in a blue can. Tear off a piece and try it on your tips. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I've got dual split Magnaflow mufflers which look good in my opinion.

I didn't have much choice in the matter since my car had them when I bought it. I've grown to like the look :)

I know, I should take a shot closer to the ground since the rest of the muffler fills the void. You don't see any gaps or anything when you look directly at the mufflers. I prefer the quad tip muffler look but these mufflers came with my car and sound amazing so the tips don't bother me too much lol
