Nevermind, just figured it out from some pictures I'd taken of the stock setup. Longer shaft goes on the driver side.

Now to disconnect the control arm and trailing arm to get the shaft into place...

D'oh! :(

Do yourself a favor ... take everything off.... It will make putting it back together easier.. ..
Re assembly
1. Hub on stub tighten nut
2. Connect upper control arm
3. Connect toe rod
4. Connect trailing arm
5. Locate lower control arm as close as you can to bolt hole.
6. Lower car with something under lower car close to ride height with something under lower control arm.
7. Insert bolt into lower control arm.
8. Reinstall brakes

Correct on all counts, Dev. Thanks for the help. I used my jack to raise the LCA to meet the spindle. Good grief, is this backbreaking work...

When I did mine the first time it took me 2.5 hrs and a couple of beers(1.5 first side with a 10 min phone call to George and 1 for the second)....

Yeah, yeah, showoff Mr. Master Tech. :bleh: One of these days, once I own my own home, I want to put in a MaxJax home mid-rise lift. But I'll never have $250k in tools.

I think it's taken me a good bit longer than that so far... Though today I've also gotten the diff put back into the car, the new Spohn LCA's and trailing arms in, and now the GForce axles. Still, not only is this the first car I've ever really worked on, but I'm also in the process of expanding my tool collection. So I just finished torquing down the Allen-drive bolts on the GForce stubs with a Craftsman 1/2" drive torque wrench - ridiculously wide tolerances come at no extra cost! - driving a 2" extension, reduced to 3/8", driving another 2" extension, and then finally driving a 3/8" 8mm Allen socket. Go me!
