I haven't had my car in yet for anything of anything.... for the most part I have no complaints and no real issues. But, I am getting to 28k miles and would like to have them do the latest updates. Right now I'd need a dealer that is header-friendly, but I plan on removing the Kooks before too much longer. I'm new to the area and don't mind driving ~60 minutes to get to a good dealer. I know a bunch of you guys are in the area... so please help! Thanks....

Well, thanks to Travis, my car is now in Jamey Smith's hands. I can see what you meant by post #3, I had talked to him on the phone to make sure they could work around my schedule, "No problem." I told him the services I wanted and what I didn't want, "No problem." I told him I wanted a quote to drop the trans pan, swap filter and fluid, and... wait for it.... "I'd love to be able to sell you that, but honestly I'd just be taking your money. I'd recommend it between 50-60k, but not a tranny flush because those can cause issues as well." HOT DAMN! Then this: "By the way, you did mention the 2-3 flare right? You'll get that on the house anyways. By the way, I just wanted to throw this out there. I know you drove almost 100 miles each way and are working midnights, so you could leave your car here, we will do the 30K stuff today, my tranny guy will be back on Monday to do the PIP4395E repairs, and your floormat holder will be in on Monday as well. I'll have your car back to you by Tuesday...." Wait a minute, I'm 250 miles from the "real" home, with only the G8 for transportation. "No problem. We'll get you fixed up for the weekend in a 2011 Buick Regal Turbo."
So far the guy has my business, even non-warranty work. Buick does not. Think Ecotec four with a 2.5psi wastegate. So, I now have definitive, back to back testing which proves...
wait for it...

Holy crap! Just for shits and giggles, I optioned out the car I'm driving on Buick.com.... $34,590!!! For a goddamn 4 cylinder front-driver!
Shame, shame, GM!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention- for 35 large, you still get the very best in '80s-look plastic "wood" around the doors and on the center console.

WOOHOOO! Another vote for Ray Skillman GMC, and specifically Jamey Smith. I talked to gr8lover about the tranny "fix" with the new seals, and he said (obviously) that a seal fix is pretty much just to blow smoke up people's asses, and that the fix GM put on the assembly line was a new pump with an o-ring under the pump. He said GM has been pushing dealers towards just the seal-alignment (PIP4395E) but that the new pump kit actually fixed the issue "for good". Well, when I dropped my car off Saturday, I mentioned PIP4395E, "No problem." Today I call in to see when the car will be ready, I hear "Your trans is all done, we replaced the whole pump assembly instead of the seal kit......." and some other stuff, but I was like HELL YEAH! They didn't even verify my car had the flare issue before fixing it! AND they escalated the repair level on their own, skipping the quick'n'cheap fix to actually resolve the issue! I can't wait to drive it- first time my car will have had any ECM/TCM update flashes, new trans pump, 4-wheel alignment, fresh tranny fluid, the works! Oh and I finally am getting those damn hail dents out of the hood as well.
Thanks Travis! The 200 mile round trip seems like it was totally worth it!

Too late! I was down there this morning, caught the ass end of that huge (first) pileup on 69, and then on the way back there was another logjam from gapers who had ass-mangled each other and tangled with some semis. A brand new 28' fifth wheel trailer was destroyed, along with a Tundra, 3 semis (wrecked), and prolly 4-5 other cars. Traffic was backed up for about 6 miles, and there were around 14 cops along the way trying to keep all the sheeple focused on not ramming each other any more while gawking. Just for reference, at 1030 conditions couldn't have been more perfect- bright, sunny, clear skies, but lots of idjits.
