LY7 no go

I went to start my g8 up this afternoon to go to work and the engine "caught" like normal than immediately stopped and on re start it cranks over as if no compression NO START
I assume the cam drive has let go or slipped does anybody know if these are "interference" engines
I know the "drive" is very complex on the LY7

I see the problem. It has 4 cams and 6 cylinders.

an update AA towed to dealer and the dealer got it to start started running rough and then cleared up so the cam drive is turning and it sounds more like a fuel type of issue
