wondering what tire, and if anybody went a slight bit bigger?

I was looking at Sumitomo 255/40/19s.... $162 each as
spare for when these get burned off.

Wanted a little bigger, with a little more hook ????

I have been looking for a drag slick, but no one makes one in a 19". However I found these, Hoosier A6 or R6 Comp Tire. The size is close, but a tad smaller.
Stock
245/40-19
Hoosier
235/30-19

Totals in inches Stock Hoosier
Sidewall Height: 3.86 3.24
Section Width: 9.65 9.25
Overall Diameter: 26.72 25.48
Circumference: 83.93 80.04
Revs per mile: 754 791

They would appear to fit, but they are not D.O.T

Any comments?

That's the problem with the Hoosier's, they are smaller in diameter than the stock 19's.
I was thinking of taking a ride up there to see if they would put just a little more rubber on the tire. :)

Too much smaller I think.

I agree. I'll have to go with MT's like you. No sense in buying in the winter for me though.

Nitto's new NT05 tire will be available in 245/40-19... it looks pretty bad ass...

Andy, are the Nitto's geared toward handling or straight line? I like the tread pattern.

they look pretty straight line to me!

they lean a little to the road race side, but with a 200 tread wear they will still be pretty sticky for straight line... until they make a legit drag radial for a 19 this will probably be one of the better choices out there
