My cure to get 10.5" wheels to fit...

Well I have decided on the wheels I want as well as the tire size I want to run. BLVD Customs will be doing this for me... I know the owner and everyone that works there pretty well, I have been dealing with them since I was 15, 10 years now.

Anyways I have decided I want the Vossen 082 wheels. The rears come with a 42mm offset on a 10.5" wide wheel.

Our plans:
roll the fenders... +2 to +3mm
pull the fenders... +3 to +5mm (can go as far as we want, but we want it to be very subtle)
shave the hub on wheels... +3mm is safe according to Vossen

By doing this we will pick up positive offset from +8mm up to +11 while keeping it all very classy and subtle.

We are also going to test fit a 305 width tire on the rear of the car since a 285 will most certainly be stretched and is not the look I want!

So technically by doing all of this we will be taking a 42mm offset wheel up to a +50mm or so which will hopefully allow for the 10.5" wheel to fit with the 305 or 295 tire at the least!

What do you guys think?

Personally I cringe at the thought of rolling and pulling the fender. I hope it works out for you.

Here is my crazy idea using the stock GXP rims

Stock rim size = 19" x 8" with a 49mm offset

1" = 25.4mm

8" wide rim with a 49mm offset. Add 2" to the back side of the rim. This changes the offset to 74.4mm (25.4mm + 49mm = 74.4mm) which is a little too much. Add a 3/4" (19.05mm) spacer and it reduces the offset to 55.35mm which I think is a pretty close to perfect on a 10" wide rim. Given the fact that the rim is 19" tall rim instead of a 20" tall rim I think the fender clearance issues will be slightly less. The only real unknown for me is the clearance on the backside or the wheel. Since people are currently running 10" rims on their Holden and G8s so I have to believe that there is enough room on the inside of the fender well.

Rolling and pulling is not a big deal at all! So many people worry about this. My shop has done this to 3 of my vehicles without any problems at all and they have done it on Mercedes, BMWs and many high end cars. If anything happens to the paint they will take car of it!

It looks to me that you only added one inch. Wouldn't it be 99.8mm (50.8mm + 49mm = 99.8mm)

In your math you only added MMs for 1" and not the 2" you said you wanted to add... I could be wrong but I think that is what he is talking about!

ok... I see... Now the problem I see is a 3/4" spacer is fricken huge! And I would not recommend putting that thick of spacer on any vehicle!

Wouldn't installing a 2" -3" lift kit on the back solve all your problems????

I suggest talking to Complete Custom Wheels. They will make you
a three-piece or forged one-piece set of wheels to the exact offset
you want, for a reasonable price. No need/risk with spacers etc.

i think it will look sick...i had plans of just cutting the fender away and doing a small fiberglass widebody to fit a 10.5 or 11 with a 315 on it :devil:
