Would you make this trade?

I've got a 2009 G8 GT with LT headers, Roto-Fab intake and BMR Sway Bars. My car also has 33,XXX miles on it. I've got the opportunity to trade for a 2001 Corvette Coupe, 1 owner, 51,XXX miles, both tops, maroon with gray leather interior, immaculate condition.

My question is would you make the trade? It would also drop my payment from $450 a month to around $370-$400 a month. I'm having a hard time making up my mind....

Please help with you input?

Corvette will be fun to drive but it won't be any faster than your G8 if it's a stock LS1. With your mods it'll likely be slower. Is it an automatic or manual? I'd keep the G8 personally.

2001 C5 base runs average 13.00-13.30, yeah it will be cheaper now, but also in 10 years when you wanna sell, if you wanna sell or need to, it will go cheaper than your G8. Less room, Stick with G8

I can't see even giving up the G8 for a C5Z. A C6Z would be an easy decision though.

I don't think I'd even make that trade for a base C6 althought I'd certainly think hard about it. As mentioned before, the C6Z would be a no brainer for me :)

I would not do it, I made the mistake of trading one of our G8's for a new camaro. there are a few things i love about the camaro, it just doesnt have the room/versatility that the G8 has.

G8 for me without question, even if is was a C6Z. I bought the fastest four door I could find for a reason...to have a fast four door car. There are always options for fast two door cars out there but I don't want that so any trade wouldn't work for me.

Now if someone wanted to trade a new CTS-V for my G8 I MIGHT consider it ;-)

I didn't say I didn't like 4th gens, just that I found your C5 comment rather ironic coming from a 4th gen owner. They do look dated to me now but that doesn't mean I wouldn't take my '95 back if given the opportunity and the condition was how I left it. Would I trade my C5 for it though? Not a chance.

4th gen f-body is a 4th gen f-body...yours is extremely nice, though!

I have a C5, and a G8. Love the Vette, but G8 is far more practical. Keep it.

I vote G8. I thought about trading my 06 Mustang GT for an 01 Vette like you looking at but even the Mustang was more practical then the Vette. But I did trade the Mustang for the G8.

Have to agree with Devilish a C5Z or a C6 trade it. The C5Z is faster then his G8. Also the mods are the same basically. Plus it is lighter.


Also on the 5th gen T/A..Here you go. They are producing these for about 60k.
