STAY AWAY FROM SILVA AUTO TRANSPORT!

Well I purchased a G8 GT from a member on here a couple weeks ago. He is in Texas and I am in Idaho so shipping was needed. I had shipped a car from Florida to Idaho years ago and all went smooth so I wasn't worried.

Got a shipper (Silva) lined up with a deposit and a date scheduled which was this last Monday. Tuesday rolls around and no word so I give them a call and they say it will be picked up within 24hrs. Well Thursday comes and still nothing and now they won't answer the phone and respond to e-mails. I call another company and they look up the board for cars waiting to be picked up and see the car with nobody even scheduled to pick it up and they said the broker was offering such a low amount to ship that nobody was going to touch it! Basically they were pocketing a large amount and offering the actual shipper next to nothing. Needless to say I was pissed!

So I called and e-mailed with a message saying I wanted a full refund and was going another route or I was going to contact my Credit Card and file a claim. Heard back from them this morning finally and they tried saying they were having phone issues at their complex:eyeroll:, they said they would refund me within 7 days but if not I guess I will have to file a claim.

Now it looks like I am flying down and driving the car back. Really didn't want to put the miles on it and worry about something happening but kinda out of options. Don't want to wait another week + for another shipper to hopefully come through. At least I will get a good introduction to the car! Leaving tomorrow afternoon and hope to be back Monday. Traveling from Amarillo, TX to Hayden, ID Sunday and Monday. Lucky that I already had 5 days off of work but, not exactly how I wanted to spend it:cry:

Anyone along the way want to meet up for lunch? Plan on heading through Boulder, Denver, Cheyenne, and then across Montana.

That sucks. And you have scarred me cause I have been looking at sending my car from TX to Cali. I think it can wait till I get back home.

Can't think of a better car to make that trip in. How many miles is that going to be?

It's going to be about 1500 miles.

Do plenty of research before shipping and make sure you get some type of guaranteed pick-up date. Also don't put a deposit, there are lots of companies that don't require them.

Your anger will be quickly disspated once you start making the drive home. A G8 through the Rockies is going to be quite exhilarating.

If you want to keep miles off of it (can't blame you for that) perhaps you could rent a U-hual truck and one of their auto trailers assuming that the G8 can be safely loaded on to one of their trailers...just a thought

If you are going through Boulder, stop in and see the folks at Adams.

While you're there in Boulder do a few burnouts to piss off the greenies
