My new Camaro differential is on the way and I was looking at the book for the replacement procedures.
The service manual says to replace the snap ring that is on the end of the axle that goes into the differential. The only problem is that there are exactly 2 of these parts (92189154 - please check this number) left in the entire country and the dealer (Royal Chevrolet) wants $23.88 each plus shipping.
Paul do you have these available and how much shipped to zip code 30067.
Everybody else - can these snap rings safely be reused if not damaged during removal?
None of the writeups that I have read here or the other site mention replacing the snap ring...only the service manual. I'll replace them if I need to but that is a additional expense and delay that I hadn't counted on. On the other hand, if that is the only thing that keeps me from spitting out an axle, maybe I will replace it :)
Thanks for the help and the advice...
