Raced a mercedes C63

[It's A G8!]

Out for a late night snack with the wifey. I was riding along and noticed a car coming up behind me. As it gets closer i notice it was a Mercedes c class. Then it passes me up and I get a better look and it was a C63. This guy wants to play but there is to much traffic on a two lame road. When it finally opened up he hits it and I do as well. Lets just say the guy didn't know what hit him. He had some passengers as well, bet they gave him a hard time about getting beat. Got to the next light and he turned.

Nice way to end the night to Kill a German sled. I am sure his friends inside were wondering how the hell did that car beat this EXPENSIVE German car, lol you showed him. Priceless for sure. I would of loved to be a fly on the back window after that run, :)

I also like that car. A long time ago I was looking at them but they were way out of my price range! So I was happy to know that my car is faster than one of those. They are like twice the price of a G8. I wish I could of seen his face :blink:

Yeah I never gave them much thought, just liked the way they looked and that v8...and then unfortunately theres two modded ones around here one dipped into the 10s and one runs low 11s and my eyes had to open a bit more lol.

nice kill, those c63 amg's are sick tho. Its easy but expensive to get power out of the 6.2 v8 they have. a good tune will up the power from the stock 451hp to like 500+hp. C63 amg is one of the only cars i would get rid of the g8 for and not even think twice about it. Probably my favorite 4 door car.

yeah, amg left a ton of power on the table. The stock c63 makes 451hp, the c63 amg with the amg performance package ontop of it ups displacement from 6.2 to the real 6.3L and hp from 451 to 481 and yet there is still more power left out cuz the ML63 amg has the same 6.3L engine and makes 503hp. Then there are staged upgrades from renntech, MHP and other companies. MHP has staged upgrades that can take the c63 amg to over 650hp N/A and thats on stock cams. The aftermarket billet cams even add more power all motor. But the downfall is you pay to play and pay alot lol. But then when you running mid 10s all motor its a small price to pay and for the luxury its just awesome. Worth it to me at least.

If anything can break a person of their CTS-V habit it's a C63 AMG. The 2008-2009 models are in lock step used price with the 2009 CTS-V.

I'm poor though so it's the G8 for me :)

In my search for another car I actually was at a dealership looking around for particular cars when I spotted a c63 on their lot. A used 2008 C63. Upon much nashing of teeth they allowed me a quick test drive. That car freaking hauls ass.

Even the older model 2008's push real close to 11s right out the door. Car and Driver grabbed a 12.3 on a stock 2008 C63.

That car was a pure thrill to drive even in limited time. If I was in the market to spend a little more maybe I wouldn't of picked up my SS. His small weight advantage is lost due to "passengers" and you with your passenger.

If your car runs very high 11s to very low 12s then Im sure you beat the C. Dont forget that the C is in stock trim pushing up to the 11s. A quick tune and that car is in 11s. Basic bolt ons and tune with DRs and that car pushs easily into the 10s at probably around 126 mph.

Also with that gear ratio it has on a roll, with passengers the G8 has an advantage.

SO it going to take a little more for 10's then think. They are not that fast to be unbeatable. Real world drivers are not running the times of PRO drivers. They seem to be running mid high 12's. even with the new ones that have more HP then the 08's and others.

As already noted MB detuned this engine. This is the same engine that produces 500 hp stock. A quick tune and your well into 11s.


All I know is when I test drove it, it was ballsy as hell and back end likes to get loose a lot. It was very similiar in butt dyno feel to my friends z06.

Any car can be made faster than someone else's.
And not everyone can drive.

Thats not my point. My point is out of the box the C63 is way more beastly than our G8s. It will take you a lot more work to get there than it will with the C.

Not to bad considering fully loaded they run about 63K or so. Think about how much the new Chally's go for, a GT500, or the pending ZL1.

A new Chally isn't going to keep up with the GT500/ZL1 stock for stock. It can't beat the 5.0 stock for stock. Plus there is not tuning still for the new challenger. Leaving the aftermarket pretty much bare for them.

But a new GT500 has went 11.1 with just tires only. And for 54K can't complain about that.

Parish's g8 was turboed making over 700rwhp and ran like a 10.82 while bolt on c63 amg's with stock heads n cams, for instance the mhp stage 2 c63 amg with 615hp/570lb ft has ran 10.789 @ 131mph. The stage 2 bolt on kit also costs $7495 which is about the cost of a Maggie 2300 kit. C63 AMG hands down. By far my favorite sedan ever. Get a used one for $45k and sink some money into it and hold on.
