Thanks for the number Paul (92138829) it is available here. I will put a note in our parts catalog for next time.
Available in the PPV catalog.
GM dealer cost is $2.17 and retail is $3.88 each. Interesting. :)

The bolt #4 I've got written down as 11519376 but there was some problem with that number showing up on the stock computer, see if it shows there Greg.

Greg@PacePerformance

The bolt in the G8 catalog is 11561674 the bolt in the PPV catalog is 11519376.
I put 11519376 in to the part locator and it calls it a headlamp screw. Could be right or wrong.

Does anyone know the correct part number for the piece that connects the rear diffuser to the trunk base? I ordered part #92158384 and unfortunately it is the wrong part (I received a metal braket from GM). As you can see from the picture in the post referenced below (top of the picture), the part is a plastic piece that extends from under the diffuser and connects to the trunk base by three tongues with screws. Mine is cracked in all three places so my diffuser is flapping in the wind. I would definitely need this part (or something custom) before installing a GXP rear diffuser. Please see post #239 in the link below for the picture:

Thank you in advance!

The Parts Drawings are crap. We tried our best knowing full well which piece you needed.
Take the broken piece off and see if there are any part numbers on it.

Not so fast.
The number on the piece may not necessarily be the Part Number.
Just give me any 8 digit numbers starting with 9 that are on the piece and I'll check it out.
Once we decipher and nail the number then we'll post it up.

The part he needs is the rear fascia I think. I went out and looked and mine is painted red (wifes car)
http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm132/charlesvanwormer/DSC04853.jpg
As you see here in charlies picture the fascia wraps down under the car and mounts with 3 push in fasteners.

I Need the part number for the lower radiator hose extension that connects to the radiator by a quick connect. I'm replacing my radiator and the lower hose is too short and the lower connection point has a quick connect or speed connect type fitting instead of the usual hose fitting like the upper hose. IIRC, the 09.5 GT hoses are the same as the GXP. Part numbers printed on the upper hose are :

92225857 (Hose)
92199505 (Assy)

I don't know why there are 2 numbers listed as the hose is the assembly....unless I am missing something. Anyway, I could not find any info on either number. Maybe Greg or CP can shed some light.

IIRC, the 09.5 GT hoses are the same as the GXP.

Yes it's a VIN break point and not V8 engine type which determines which hose.
Longer top hose , USA passenger side waterpump connection, Most G8-GT's, up to 2009ish.......92157816.
Shorter top hose, USA drivers side waterpump connection, 2009.5+..........92215927

Hi guys was wondering what the part # for the two caps on the back of the headlight assembly???

When I ordered part number "92193037 Cover Headlamp Bulb Access (Low Beam)" it was the wrong cap. They tried twice thinking it was packaged wrong. So the dealer ordered part number "92193038 Cover Headlamp Bulb Access (High Beam)" and it fit the low beam. I just looked at a GM parts catalog and they are still showing the smaller cap in the picture. If GM got their shit together the may have fixed the part number with the correct part but not the picture. Save yourself the time and order the high beam caps to avoid having to reorder them.

I've been researching this for someone else and lets just say the GM drawings in this area are diabolical.
They only show 1 generic drawing for all options and it does not give any detail or sub-assembly part numbers.
I can give you some photos, maybe something there can help somebody.

You need to use a small pick tool to release the sunroof control panel, you'll see small gaps to insert the tool. Once that piece is dangling, you need to remove the screws you can see that go into the roof bracket. Next the unit will pop out, but be CAREFUL as you do it, I think the front releases first then it drops forward and down/out. Be careful as there are absolutely breakable plastic pieces in there!

Test the lights in the sockets before you reassemble!!!

In the picture #6 the Captive Nut are they reusable? Because you say that "Not available as a seperate replaceable item". Yes, re-usable.....they have to be as they're most likely welded or swaged to the car frame.

The stick or lever itself only comes as part of the shifter assembly.
Item 1....GXP Manual 6 speed shifter assembly.....everything in the lower rectangular box = Part No 92227340.
You cannot fit the complete new shifter assembly without unbolting the gearbox support crossmember & lowering the trans a few inches to get access on top of the gearbox.
What you could do is just rob the parts you need from the new shifter assembly and just change those out from the top.
92227340 is about 1/2 the price in USA compared to Aus....great if you can find one in stock there.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/PerthPurplePenguin/car%20parts/GXP%20Manual%20shifter/BOOT_.jpg

Now if you also need an Item 2.....new leather shift knob (with skirt or boot) in either black or red hot, I can supply one of those cheaper from Aus than you'll find anywhere else.

I need the part number for the trim piece located on the bottom of the seat belt were the belt connects to the seat. The side closest to the seat has felt on it so as not to scratch the seat plastic. I believe the piece is universal. If not, I need the passenger side.

I've never bought one so I don't know.
The way it's drawn would suggest everything is bought seperately, but you wont know 100% until you see the actual part supplied under No 92200197

(If the Part No was a complete assembly with insert and clips it should be drawn with a box around everything that was included as Item3 on the drawing).

I just want to check a couple part numbers for those familiar with GM parts and stock. My dealer ordered...

92249538. Please tell me that's the new whole 4-set Arm Kit and not just 1? When it says NSA or NSP for parts location or stock location, I hope that doesn't mean No Stock Anywhere...

92198656. This has a hole in it on my car. AC went warm last week. I take it this is an AC line? Location is LANS. Lansing, MI?

Also, does anyone have the part number for the two-piece plastic female threaded peg & male threaded backing part that hold the floor mat in place? This is the dreaded floor mat piece that breaks. I think I'll just replace this myself. I think I read on this forum that it can be replaced from the side and doesn't require ripping up the whole carpet.

Thanks!!!

Yes, this can be replaced from the side. You have to remove the "rocker panel" cover which holds the carpet then you can get under there. Here are the part numbers listed on my invoice when the local dealer replaced mine.

qty 1 - 19167707 Retainer
qty 1 - 19167704 Retainer

(not sure why 2 numbers, I only had one replaced?....might be two pieces?

19167707 could be used just as an assembly/ fitting tool ??.

19167704
It's not a Pontiac or G8 specific part they've used.
It's used on Buick,Saturn,Cadillac,GMC truck,Corvette etc.
It's a generic GM retainer kit (about $10).....must include a heap of the buggers.

19167704 Front/Complete Floor. RETAINER KIT. BUTTON. Toe/Floor Panel.
RETAINER KIT,F/FLR AUX MAT(EBONY)(INCLS TOP & BOTTOM RET)(MAY NEED 19167707 TO FIT MAT RETS)

Difficult to tell since they don't give the Part No.
The stock G8 front lower compartment is not as they've drawn it with a full width curved door and a rubber tray insert available.
The drawing is of the Holden Calais full sized compartment which does not fit into the G8 centre stereo stack housing.

You want this:

OK so I am confused a bit now. I went to the dealer to find out what exactly these floor mat retainers are and which one I need for my G8: 19167704 & 19167707.

The guy at the parts counter pulled them up and they don't show for the G8; they show for other cars. In addition, they mentioned something about possibly needing the pieces that go in the mat too to adapt to these retainers. I found that strange when all I need is the two-piece assembly that goes right above and right below the carpet. Another flag was the color. Titanium and Black didn't seem right to me.

I had the parts guy check for the parts for the G8. This is what he showed me.

The two-piece floor mat retainer on the sketch shows the bottom piece as #8 (below the rug) and the top piece as #7 (above the rug and attaches to the piece under the rug). The lower part #8 does NOT have a Part Number and says it's part of # 2 which is p/n 92204571 "Carpet!" The upper piece #7 is p/n 13142333. This part says it's part of #5 which is p/n 90214832.

So from this it looks like for me to get the lower and upper floor mat retainer that goes in the carpet, I need:

1. A piece that has no p/n and can't be had separately without buying the carpet, pn 92204571.
2. A piece with p/n 13142333 that either can be bought separately or must be included with 90214832. Unsure if it can be bought separately...

I can't believe fixing this little issue has become so complicated!

Paul or Greg, any thoughts on this???

It's less than $3 so I'll buy one and find out.

Looking for bolt that attaches windshield wiper fluid container (neck) to bracket up top. Thanks!

GM USA doesn't list in the catalog and I need one.

Try 92139101 (If you have no stock or it costs more than $1, then try #11561674.....they should be the same thing. M6x1 x20 long bolt with washer included.

If you're also missing the nut, it's a 6mm U type speed nut.......should be #11516372

Greg@PacePerformance

Not sure if either are correct.
19139101 is the one that holds the top of the fascia and radiator mounts, and 11561674 is the bolt that holds the condenser to the radiator.
I will check them against the wifes car tonight with an update.
Thanks Paul.

Maybe Paul has an idea.
It's going to be a group effort to sort this out.
Look up your list of "Option Codes" and tell me what the A stands for in "Ve8Ap"

The 92213828 goes with VE derivative, MY2008, ......something......, Pontiac.

The 92204530 goes with Veve (so if it fits a left hand drive Pontiac that's a bonus)

The 92217336 goes with Vevep (something specific to Pontiac about this one)

I have been working on installing the Edelbrock coil covers. When they say they do not work with stock applications and modifications may be necessary, they really mean it. Anyway, I got done cutting and grinding the covers so that I clear everything. They are looking good. Time to install the coils and mount them. @%$%$%$&^*#@# The coils my G8 came with are 12570616. They have 72 mm spacing for the mounting bolts for the coils. The Edelbrock coil covers have a 65 mm spacing! The covers are supposed to be for Gen III and IV engines, so there must be coils out there that fit. Anybody have a coil part # with 65 mm spacing? Is it compatible with the G8 engine?

Thanks in advance.

Yes I've got some here with 65mm vertical spacing.....I'll get the details later for you.
Sounds like you're chasing your tail though, because with different coils comes different coil mounting brackets, possibly even different valve covers.
$$$$$$$$
Might be time to stop and see if you were given the correct part number to begin with and if its really worth the drama IMO.

Thanks CP. The coils mount directly to the coil cover, so I am OK on brackets and valve covers. The only thing I am worried about are if there are wiring differences.

Next issue: The oil filler neck is about 1/2 inch or 13 mm too short to clear and get the cap on, any suggestions?

OK confirmed, vertical spacing of bolt holes in coil is 65mm.
Coil Part No 12558948. LS1 coil 1999-2004
Plug wire from G8-GT will still fit but the small connector on each coil is different.
To use the 8x LS1 coils you'll also need 2 x 12582190 (4 into 1 coil harness).
The large group connector on the end of the LS1 (4-1) harness is the same as for L76.
Gen3(LS1) coils are supposedly not as good as the later Gen4(LSx) coils.

Was able to use the existing neck, but it is extremely tight. About 3-5 mm longer would work wonders. If I cannot find another filler neck (all LS filler necks are the same as far as I have found), I will find a different cap to take some strain off.

I know what you're talking about. The front black clip goes on the cam sensor portion of the powertrain harness and the rear black clip goes on the oxygen sensor portion of the powertrain harness.
I've tried sourcing these and cannot find a part number...all I keep getting told are they are part of the harness.

Cable-tie section of this one is broken, the only number on the item leads me nowhere.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/PerthPurplePenguin/car%20parts/Clips/3646TA1.jpg

Greg:
GM Drawing HE02A706 shows the Engine Harness with the front clip for supporting the leg which runs to the Cam Sensor attached.
There's another GM Drawing HE02A705 which shows ITEM 3, and in Australia Holden give Part No 08917257 for it.
This is a metal J clip and is not what is fitted to the VE at all.
Other VE Harness Parts Numbers which are not correct are : Bracket 92056538 & Retainer 96017928

In USA, GM give ITEM 3 Part No 19130464 for the Pontiac G8-GT V8 MYC 2008-2009
This part is not correct either, it's a generic Ziptie about 7" long with a 1/4" rosebud which is too small for the M10 metric holes.

I've got a full set of 5 panels here, I just need to get under a VE on a hoist to figure out all the fasteners. Holden drawings don't show panel to car fasteners. Have got a hoist organised for Monday sometime.
Shipping is going to cost more than the parts because the front panels are too long for Postal System airfreight.
Have to sit down and work out how best to bundle them and probably some kind of group buy arrangement due to the International freight costs.

i have a question. back on page 7 it has the part #'s for the hood vents only. it says #92221708 for the left and #92213788 for the right. however, i went to gmpartsdirect.com and typed those in and only the left side vent was found. #92213788 wasn't in the system. then i typed in #92221709 (one number higher than the left side vent) and it came up right side vent. is this legit and for the G8? i didn't read through the rest of the pages to see if it was corrected, just wanted to make sure. also, these come unpainted i'm assuming, correct? thanks.

Maybe a stealership would do it for extra money.
From factory they are just bare plastic, if there were colour options there'd be 10 different part numbers involved, ala door handles and rear parking sensors.

I'm looking for the part # for the wiring harness that connects to the headlights.

When I got into an accident a while back the stealership must have broken the clips and cut all the wires on each headlight then just taped over the soldier. Now one of my headlights keeps burning out the bulbs!

I can. I bet all of ours are broke in the same place lol
GM has them in my local warehouse so about 1 day to me.
$56.22 plus shipping
Might be cheaper shipped from Paul but I don't know his price on it.

System is back up, you're correct. 92251455 is the latest number.
92213099 supercedes to 92251455 which means they're interchangeable and definately fit the VE/G8.

I can't beat that because of International shipping charges from here.

I'm going to be working on a list of parts for you! Mostly suspension bolts. Once I get all the parts I'll list them in a PM. Hopefully next week, I'll be on vacation so I can get some work done on the car.

Thanks
