Ok you all, it looks like the DWS's are what I think are my next set of shoes are going to be. From what I have read they are some nice tires.
Who all on here have run them as a DD tire. Now consider the type of driving I do is 99.9% highway and a few times I run her up over 125+ of course in Mexico, lol. I have had excellent performance out the the Potenzas and really like them but when I had to drive in snow and solid ice this past winter, let me tell you it was not to much fun, especially driving from Abilene, TX to Ft. Worth in February on 2" of solid ice in I-20 going maybe 15-20 mph, talk about butt puckering.:facepalm2:
I need a tire that will get me a good 60,000 miles on them and that is about what I drive a year maybe a bit more.
Give me your feed back.

I have had dws Conti's for about six months and i really think it was the best deal i have made on new tires. They are great in snow. They are super dry. But the best is in rain. I was at the track and it started to rain. I am telling you, I think they were better wet than dry. I had more fun running on wet. The car would run into the corners and give up just enough to turn to the spot I wanted to be pointing. After two laps, I took the traction control off and had more fun than honeymooners. No sidewall roll, just pure thrill. I thought the braking was very close to dry. I cannot say, I could tell a difference. I did have one bad experience with tank slapping on dry asphalt once. The car started rocking so bad, I thought it would flip. I was braking hard and turned slightly to avoid a pothole when the car started to dance side to side. It was not so fun. Tire wear is hardly noticeable with 8300 miles. The DWS are still readable. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the input. they seem to be the right tire for all around performance and tire wear.

I use their summer tires now and have used their winter tires as well and loved both. I'm sure the A/S are good. They are rated highly.

not sure you are going to get 60K. Good tire for 35K IMO.

I have a set of DWS's, and they are... a mixed bag. They've worn well and still have lots of tread life left. I've got around 10,000 on mine, and most of that was when my G8 was still my daily driver. They are louder on the freeway than my old Eagle RS-A's, but they grip well and feel good on the road. Sort of.
You see, mine were poorly manufactured, so when I first got them they were all pretty close to 30-lbs out of round. I should have used the warranty right then, but I decided to see if they'd wear in. Of course, life being busy and me being lazy, I never took 'em back in to see how they were doing. They've only gotten worse, and now they're so out-of-round that they cannot be balanced. As such, my car occasionally shakes like it's possessed if I hit a certain speed, and that speed seems to change from day to day. Unfortunately, they're also too far used to be warranted.
In terms of performance, I have no qualms with them. But in terms of quality...
If you get 'em from a good batch, they're a great tire. If you don't, turn around and use the warranty immediately.

Oh trust me I will if they don't balance. I like my Potenza's and I think I should get as many miles or more out of them. If I can get close to 60K out of them I will be happy. My first set of Potenza's I got 52K out of them and still had a good 5K or so left on them.

Love my set. Unbelievable in the snow and slush around here, but never felt like I gave much up the rest of the year vs. the stock summer tires. The only difference I noticed is the response during fast turning. The summer tires always snapped to work immediately, the Conti's seem to have the mildest disconnect between input and response. It was a bit unsettling at first, but it's consistent and when the tires grab, they are great.

Which Potenzas? The stock summer ones that came with my car lasted me 25k and had absolutely no grip during any of that. It was an AWFUL tire. My Conti summers are MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better.
