Trunk Latch Crapped Out!

My trunk latch crapped out today. The trunk won't stay closed and there is a grinding sound with I try to pop it. I looked and the latch is not in the closed position. It should be working.
A replacement assembly is 12 bucks and is being delivered to the dealer tomorrow. It kinda makes me think this is common if GM has these parts stateside. I thought I would be waiting on shipping from Australia.
Anyone else have this issue?

I had that around 6,000 miles. Made an odd vibrating noise while attempting to actuate the latch. Took a few tries to get it open. Then would take a few tries to get it to stay shut. The dealer had mine done within a week, and it's been fine ever since.

Same with mine. Dealer warrantied the actuator. No problems ever since.

At that price they must be selling you the old superceded Latch Asm R/Cmp Part No 92216374
Most recent revision is new Part No 92228108 at 3x the price.

Yea, my invoice has 92216374 as the part number. That sucks.
