so my 2-3 year old piolti's are about to wear through the sole, I'm eyeballing some moto 800s in black/orange (to try to match the V, no yellow that I can see) but I'd like to shop around this time as my last search when I bought my current pair involved eBay. budget is $150. prederably I'd like something in black with yellow highlights.
just not familiar with the big brands that are out there so please name or reccomend them, thanks!
Why do you need driving shoes? Aren't those motorcycle shoes?

what? No.

They're comfortable than loafers or sneakers, they're contoured for heel-toe and the back of the sole has grip up to the edge of the rim of the shoe. 1000% superior when I go to the drag strip or auto cross, but I wore them anytime I wasn't driving the beater anyway. They're so perfect for the job actually awkward for me to drive in my work shoes anymore.

Those are made for a motorcycle. Even the link you posted says so in the description. They're even named after a motorcycle. It's got the shift lever protector on top, metal plates on the bottom for the pegs, and the lace covers so your laces don't come untied and get caught in your bike chain.
If you like wearing them for driving, that's great... but they are made for motorcycles. I've just never heard of anyone wearing them while driving a car.

No problem, man. If they're comfortable to drive in, get you another pair! If you want some recommendations on good ones, you might have better luck on a motorcycle forum :) The only motorcycle boots I ever had were so stiff and uncomfortable that I could hardly bend my ankle to shift gears. It's good to know that there are some comfortable ones out there.

Lots of racers wear driving shoes, required in higher classes. I never tried them cuz none of the SFI rated ones come in extra wide sizes.

I have G-Force. They are less expensive, and came with my suit. Don't think I would wear them while in the G8, though...(overkill)
I do like to wear the Nomex Jockeys while in the G8...keeps the Fire Down Below!!!

We'll see if they fit. I don't need wide's normally, but they *do* look fairly slim.

Same here... I need something wide as well... 13US 4E. I'd love to find something that would work!

Todd, I've researched this; NOTHING out there with SFI rating. some foreign brands but they have no SFI.

I think they look nice. He is not driving a G8 anymore he has the CTS-V race car so he needs a racing shoe, lol.
If it feels good then go for it. Kind of the Racaro Seats in the car.
