I'd like some nice pretty ones. We use the LS2 type, right?

I'm going to have my fuel rail powder coated. I've got it all apart now, just need to remove the fuel line.

we have used the aeromotive 14114 rails numerous times... depending on the injector a spacer might be needed, but the brackets are in the right spot...

Yes.

This pic shows a stock L76/LS2 fuel rail on top of an LS1 style intake manifold. Notice the 4 mounting brackets don't line up.

So a billet fuel rail to suit your LS3 intake will look similar to an LS1 rail, but the bracket spacings and heights will be different.

I have the 'professional products' LS1 (i think?) rails which actually seem to line up in 1 spot but not the other. Also because of the injector height the brackets they provide just don't fit (makes it sit too high). Nothing some 90 degree aluminum-rail turned into custom brackets won't fix.

Do the fuel rails increase power or are they a show mod?

show mod... they would increase power once you reach the capacity of the stock rail... which is approx 750 rwhp

This system would work, yes?

Steve, are you sure you have 10614, not 10611 or 10612? 10614 is supposed to be LS2. You're saying it doesn't fit?

Just checked and I have the 10612 - look just the same though :)
It's just a matter of fabricating the correct brackets for it.

How hard was it to get the line off Ray, the one that needs the special tool?

You should be able to get that tool at your local Advance Auto/O'Reiley's/etc.

Yea, I think its just a matter of closing the tool on the line and sliding the ears into the fitting. I have one coming, will figure it out.

The springlocks aren't really limited to Ford anymore. Many manufacturers use springlocks to attach the fuel lines to the rails.

Yea, but that's where I first ran across them, so I see that style of connector and think "Ford".

Thats cool. I do the same thing with other items. I always associate Kenne Bell superchargers as belonging on Ford's more than any other manufacturer vehicle.

With the proper tool pretty easy. Once you slide the tool into the fitting, it helps if you push and tug. There is a slight pressure to get it out though. It's not like it slides right off, you do have to tug a little.

I pulled all the injectors 1st. I didn't want to bang them around. Be careful if there is any pressure on the fuel rail. The 1st injector will pop out after you get the keeper off. Don't ask me how I know. :)

The pressure should have already been relieved if you have disconnected the springlock on the fuel line.

My rails arrived today. Looking good. Waiting on a few hose parts prior to install. Install likely next weekend.

Anyone that decides to use the Performance Products fuel rail setup PLEASE check your AN crossover line. The one that I installed on my car today has a leak on the 90* fitting on one side. The leak is at at the junction that allows the hose to spin freely of the fitting. When I apply pressure to the hose with my hand, it leaks.

A couple new AN branded fittings should solve the issue. The fittings that come with this are junk compared to the real ones.

I don't want to see anyone's car have any problems due to a fuel leak.

Yes I noticed a few complaints over at ls1.tech.com about the PP rails ages ago. I thought it was more to do with poorly machined threads back then. Whatever it was....leaks were the result.

Well, now I'm convinced. Performance Products fuel rails are JUNK. Threads galled on the first fitting I put in. I'm really glad these were cheap; now I know why.

Anyone tried Aeromotive 14114 rails?

Andy@Livernois
01-15-2009, 03:04 PM
ok... the stock L76 injector is too short for those rails... they would fit perfectly with the "truck" injector (which is smack dab in the middle of an LS2 height and the L76/LS3/LS7 height) if you use an LS2 injector you would need a spacer approx 1/2 inch thick to work correctly... If you wanted to use the stock L76 injectors you would have to use the 14115 rails... IIRC they run ~220 for those.

Now just like the other aeromotive rails these take AN thread w/ o-ring fittings, NOT NPT... so leaking shouldn't happen, but the fittings aren't cheap either... :(

01-15-2009, 03:12 PM

Andy@Livernois
01-15-2009, 03:16 PM
