Actually not for 08 models only. There are drop down menus where you choose your year.

I did some searching about any TSB's or recalls and found this.

Thanks for the post/info!

My car is currently at the dealership and I'am awaiting them to tell me why my G8 GT with 10,xxxx miles has a large drip coming from the engine area.

The spot is the size of a half dollar that appeared to be possibly oil but its been cold out so I was lazy and didn't inspect it but instead just took it to the dealer letting them know I don't understand why my unmodded low mileage G8 has a large drip mark on my clean garage floor.

Hopefully its something like this TSB or is at least covered. I'll find out monday/tuesday. My first time owning a chevy V8 which I love but come on - only 10,xxxx miles unmodded and already a issue, hopefully its just a fluke. I've never had such a issue so soon with my foreign cars. crossing my fingers.

You're G8 is crying because you don't love it enough to mod it! Lol :nah:

Mine has the same drip. 1 0r 2 every time I park it in garage. Mine seems to be coming from the drain plug which is tight. No oil missing on dipstick measure. Oil film on everything from plug back thru tranny pan. Car built Nov 2007 (one of first 2000) purchased 4/5/08 11K mil

sup guys i have already had mine in the shop at 6k for oil pan gasket which took them 1 month to get and the tech 7 hours to change now at 10k and i noticed it when i was washing it the other day because i lift it on the hoist spray underneath and i was leaking from the filter base or the relocation block above it. I will be taking it in a few weeks.:bjob:

Mine will sometimes flare a bit if cold. Goes away when things warm up though.

Could someone define "flare" for us dummies?

Flare is when the RPMs increase during an upshift. Say the car revs to 2200 goes to shift and continues to rev to 2500 before it finally completes the upshift into the next gear. It is not normal for it to happen with the transmission is up to temperature but will do it sometimes in very cold weather due to the fluid become more viscous(thicker) due to the cold temperatures...My allison tranny in my duramax would do this after a cold night of setting outside and once it would get the fluids moving it would be fine...the allison also would flare shifts when I ran a 350hp PPE tune also...

How would one tell what type transmission that they have in their car. Understand that the GT has 6 spd auto and the base g8 has a 5 spd auto. This post seems to imply that it is the 5 spd but then again?

6L80 is the 6speed auto in G8s

If you have a VMS TCM tune, will the dealer make the necessary repairs? Mine does this even in warm temperatures. Only time it doesn't do it is under moderate to full throttle accelaration.
BTW, my G8 is a 2009 with 18k miles on it. Seems to be (very slowly) getting worse.

If you pop your hood, and look at the manufacture plate which is on your driverside behind the air box mounted on the body where the strut is, then you can see the transmission code you have
