Dear Forum,
I've been researching high performance all season tires to death and am exhausted. It's come down to the two tire models: Goodyear Eagle GT's or Continental ExtremeContact DWS's.

Input from people who've had experience with either tire or a better tire out there is greatly appreciated! My only constraints are 'high performance' and 'all season'.

My G8 is a daily driver and never goes to the track but yes I like to romp on it from time to time and work out the Pedders Track II suspension on curvy roads.

Given your choices, go with the Conti's. My latest are General G-max's, which as far as I can tell are similiar to BFG KDWS, just quieter and stick better. They do not have the wet traction of the Conti's. I have not tested snow traction, but reports are that they will not be as good as conti's in the snow either.

Put the Conti's on this past February and we still got a few snows here with 4-5" of snow and made it through that no problem with the traction control. No problems with rain either. And, when it's dry, they have plenty of sport in them for spirited driving. I could probably be happy with them year round, but got a helluva deal on a summer setup.

I got the Eagle Gts...not bad...but man....they tend to loose traction alot whenever it rains... i also break loose a lot whenever i take out the traction control...(not a problem whenever i have my DR on though..) the tread wear is good though...done had these tires for about 2 years...still good.

I love the Eagle's for anything except snow. In ANY snow they Blow. Where as the Conti's are supreme in the snow. Once conditioned my Eagles I could floor in the rain, great like a summer tire in the summer, I got 25,000 out of the rears driving like I stole it. The fronts are still 50-60 %. Once The rears went crappy I did not rotate any longer and just burned them up. I found they are really particular to air pressure. Lower them in snow they do much better but I did not find that out till the last snow in desperation. I would buy again but because I have to get to work in the snow I will prob get the Conti's and run summer tires in the heat, Conti's just for the Fall thru early Spring.

Looks likes the Conti's get the popular vote: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=UHPAS

Tire Rack also did a review on the new Bridgestone UHP All season http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=147

I have not had good luck with any Goodyear tire. But I definitely trust the reviews on Tire Rack.

I've had Conti's on mine since February from TireRack and have nothing but great things to say. We've only had a few inches of rain here in Austin since I put em on, but they did great in the few times it was wet. They hold traction very well in the dry and you can beat on them pretty good and they don't break free. I don't track the car or push it really hard, but it does everything I need them to. Cornering leaves a little bit to be desired as I'm sure you will find with other reviews, but I'm not one to pitch a 4000+lb sedan around corners much anyway :0

Oh and the 55k mile warranty isn't bad either ;)

Alright, I've had, or have, both on my ride. I first had the 245/40/19 Goodyear Eagle GT's on my rear wheels after I ran through the shitty bridgestone potenzas in 10 months. They were nice, had them through most of winter '10-'11, in February I put on the CTS-V 19x9/9.5 wheels with the Eagle GT's up front and the Continentsl EC DWS 285/35/19 on the rear. All four are awesome so far, but I do hear more squeaks from the rears as of late. I don't know if that's because it's getting warmer and I'm having more fun or not. Nonetheless, I'd purchase both tires again. Probably be first choice for what I need/desire/etc.

Thanks everyone for all the great feedback! Gonna pull the trigger on tires in a couple of weeks and am leaning towards the Conti's. The Michelin's are appealing too but... that price tag. :)
