I didn't know where to post this but thought the DIY area would be most appropriate. Now that summer weather is upon us here in Canada I have had issues with my sunglasses. I keep them in the handy sunglasses holder but have to take them out for a few minutes before wearing them as they burn my nose when I put them on! Of course, this only happens when it's very sunny and hot out.

Is there anything I can do to continue to use this holder but not melt my sunglasses (or my nose)?

Try a windshield sunshade?

It's the sun beating on the roof that's the problem, not through the windshield. Having a black car doesn't help...

Its not only the 8 that does this. Every car I've owned that has the holder was like this. Had to put them in front of the ac vent for a few seconds. Leaving the holder open mostly takes care of it.

Ahh....I misread. I don't have a sunglass holder but I do have to put my sunglasses in front of the vent for a few seconds as Whitey mentioned to cool them off.

I put mine in the holder but I keep it open so they don't get red hot here in Texas.

My sunglasses reside on top of my head when not on my face. Problem solved.

Where is the sunglass holder... I put my oakleys in front where the Atari Gauges would be

If you have a sunroof, you don't have one. It would be located where your sunroof controls are.

nice idea but the nose pads leave two little divots in my bald head. Can't go this route... :cool2:

Made me laugh (and cry)!

worth a shot! I figured someone would have come up with a way to deflect the heat from the holder. Maybe the aluminum foil wouldn't be so bad of an idea... :facepalm2:

I'm willing to give him a shot!

I had a pair of prescription glasses crack due to the heat, I always left them in the cuby above the vents in the center. I do not due that anymore, that was an expensive mistake.
