I just got my dash hawk today and did some 0-60 runs. Between learnig to use the DH and the heat I had quite a time. I kept making a loop to come back to a long ramp that would let me do it without speeding. The road, unfortunately, was at an incline, not a lot but you could definately see it was going uphill. Any way, air temp was in the low to mid 80s. Car had almost 3/4 full tank and I didn't think about turning off the air-conditioning until the 5th run. I had runs of 5.02, 5.08, 5.12, 5.21, 4.98, 5.05 all done in sport mode, TC on. The time between runs was about 4 min run at about 50mph and the car was getting warm. Had it been level, I'm sure it have been lower.

I bet with Charlie mods it would have been better too.

Thats not too bad for what you have. Turn the TC off. If it senses spin it applies the brakes and it goes slower. My guess is TC off at least 40 psi in all 4 tires, flat surface, NO A/C(lol) 4.6-4.75

That would be great. The incline was pretty noticable. I also don't have the Charlie mods. I'll do the intake cover this weekend and the lower panel once i get your panel.

My intake temps never got closer to ambient that 7 or 8 degrees and usually 9-10*. This was a lot better than when i switched to the OEM IAT sesor. it was 15-20* above AAT.

I re-ran mine this morning. Flat road. 72* AAT, 75* IAT, A/C off, TC off. Normal shift mode, Power brake to 1000 rpm. 0-60 mph = 4.80 sec.

Only mods are: VMS 93 tune/TCM tune, VMS HSRK, Roto-Fab CAI.

I need a DH at some point... 300 bucks just cuts into my dyno cash though...

Ugh...

I did 3 more runs today, all 0-60 mph. Temps in the mid 80s. high humidity. A/C off, TC off, power brake to 1000, same incline as my first set of runs. 5.02 ( did not power brake and it bogged just a little when i hit it) 4.92, 4.95 seconds.

VMS has a coupon code for DHs, it will bring the price down to 250

and well worth it.

I did 2 more this morning on flat road with A/C and TC off, normal shift, 1000 rpm launch and got 4.81 and 4.82 sec.

The conditions were the same temp and humidity (high0 as yesterday's 4.80 so it looks pretty repeatable.

What sort of difference do you think the MF catback would have? Would UD pulley be better spent money?

They both have their own advantages. The exhaust obviously will let it have a higher flow and considering you have more air coming in, time to let it out too. The pulley is an upper rpm HP gain. They are both well worth the investment.

It all depends on what you are looking for. I think you would have better gains with the catback, but if you are going to consider LT headers, you may want to reconsider the decision.
I added the UDP pulley because I am looking for every tenth I can get at the race track. If you're not racing then the UDP is a dress up item IMO.

Thanks for the feedback. Funds are very limited and i need to spend wisely. This is a daily driver that I want to be quick, handle well and sound good but not "boy racer" (ricer, LOL).

If you haven't done axle backs I would start there. Regards of any other exhaust work you can keep them. It still gives the G8 a great sound, but less performance than an axle back system.

I, on the other hand, would leave the axle backs for last. You'll get hardly any extra power out of them, especially for the money spent.

G8V8, you need to decide if you are going to put headers on your car. Then decide if you are going to do LT's or shorties. If you are doing shorties, then the choice of cat-back is up to you.

If, on the other hand you are going to do a Long Tube Header, start there, then work your way to the back of the car.

The UD pulley is a "nice to have" but not a "got to have" item.

YMMV
