I've been aching to take the G8 on this ride. Head west out of Portland, Oregon on HWY 26. HWY 26 and HWY 47 North will share the same route, then when it breaks off, follow HWY 47 until you get to HWY 202, then take that 44 miles over a small mountain ridge into Astoria. The whole drive is about 110 miles.

These roads were flat out made for touring cars and crotch rockets. There are a couple of places with minimal margin for error, no guard rails, trees, etc. etc. but overall the roads are in amazing shape. There is actually a fair number of passing areas to get around slower moving traffic, along with some pretty nice straight aways to sprint into insanity land.

Use the manual shift feature to keep the revs up over 2500 RPM and enjoy rowing between 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, sprinting into triple digits before dropping down into the 40s to really feel the road. As you hit 202 and climb up the small mountain ridge the pavement gets more uneven, but not abusive. The top of the summit (if you want to call it that) is a fabulous dragon's tail up and down before you roll into Astoria. Mostly rural, only a couple of towns you pass through, Veronia being the largest (about half way) and screams speed trap (15 MPH turn and then 20 MPH through the heart of town).

This was a spectacular drive - and the G8 was awesome to take out on it. Enjoy!

Sounds like a good drive. The Oregon coast drive coming up this weekend is somewhat similar, but comes out at Seaside. I was planning on going, but my car is in a state of disassembly with my gauge install, and I need to get my new tune tweaked.

Find some good routes closer to home! Not that Portland is that far away, but it would be nice to be able to do a nice cruise on the weekend without having to plan a weekend get-away.

Are you doing a-pillar gauges or center gauges? Have you done any more tuning since we last saw each other - you're pulling damn good numbers. Cruise with you guys - I'll be in the rear with the gear - LOL!!!

Doing a JHP center gauge pod with 2 Aerforce gauges, AFR sensor, Boost sensor, and fuel pressure sensor. Just installed LS9 injectors, Magnavolt BAP, and got re-tuned. Need to drive it for a while, then go back and we are going to final tweak the tune, and then put it on the dyno for final WOT tuning and to see where I am now.

Saw you on 196th the other day and honked, but I was in my truck.

Sure it was me? There is another white G8 GT debadged in Edmonds - right up to no front license plate too.

I would have gladly taken the day off for this if I knew you were going to be driving that route!

Hey guys I will be coming up to Portland/Vancuver Wash in June to hang out with some family for a few days. I will be bringing the G8 along and would be down for a meet and greet/cruise if you guys are up to it.

My re-tune is awesome, Engine/Trans just can't believe the difference it makes. Got to get it out for some fun.

You need to do some fresh dyno pulls - bet your 340 or better now :)
