I have an msd 2351 installed in the trunk near the battery. There is no boost line connected to it and fp is usually at 68. I notice that when the car is running, it makes a whine noise. When the car is off, I notice a little red light that ocassionally blinks twice.
I am wondering if it is correct that it should make the whining noise. Also, shouldn't there be a boost line run to it? My installed was pretty tech savvy so I wonder if he did something different.
Since the install I have been having sporatic problems with my TPMS and I am also wondering if this could be the problem. The tpms loses signal sporadically on different wheels and on 2 different sets
Is there a quick place to get the msd software?

Here is where you can download the software:

I would think the boost should be hooked up as that's the normal way it's programmed (voltage out based on boost pressure) but I guess if was just set to a higher voltage all the time you could easily forego the boost line. The issue with this is that you might get a little earlier wear on your fuel pump running at a higher voltage all the time instead of just when it's needed. I've got one too and it whines also; I called MSD and they recommended I sent it back to be checked but I have not done it. I thought I'd try improving the grounds to see if it can be quieted down. Mine is mounted right above my left foot so it's noticeable. Once this semester is over (next week), I'm going to try to resolve it.

I would appreciate it if you could post back the results if you send it back to msd. Thanks for the link, I will have a look.
Do you know what the stock fp pressure would be?

Should be 58psi. Have you checked your fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge?

I have not. Given that there was no vac/boost line going to the BAP I am thinking that my guy just somehow set the program so that the pump is always getting extra voltage. Curious to know if I run a line and set it so when not in boost, I get stock voltage, then added voltage in boost to increase pressure, will I need to have the car retuned. I paid a little closer attention to night and at idle it was 64 and on moderately heavy acceleration it went down to 60. I really don't go wot often. I am only at 450s with. A mustang dyne so I am not sure I really even need this. Just not sure if I want to g o through the retune process.

I'm not sure on the MSD BAP, but I know on the Kenne Bell, it has wires from the BAP up to a sensor and then a vac hose from the sensor to the nipple on the maggie. So you have nothing attached to the boost nipple on the maggie?
Here is a DIY on the Kenne Bell install: http://forum.grrrr8.net/showthread.php?t=22374&p=330676&viewfull=1
I just had a Magnavolt installed, and it runs a vac hose all the way from the BAP in the trunk up to the nipple on the maggie.

There is a plug on the maggie nipple. There is an inlet on the msd bap with nothing attached. The fact that my s mid to high 60s makes me think he set iit up with extra voltage going to the pump constant. I would like to undo that as I don't think constant excess voltage is good for the pump.

If your BAP has a hose to the nipple on the Maggie, are you still able to read boost pressure with a gauge?
We have about the same Mods (except I did not chance my pulley, I guess you did right?) and when I did my dyno tune, I was told that I was not running out of fuel so I have not gotten a BAP. Are you sure you need one?
