I have stock tires, vcm otr, solo mach balanced exhaust, no tune yet. I know the basics of a time slip, but can someone explain where I can gain time and where I lost time. I ran 14.2 in my mustang gt at 100 flat so running a 13.64 in the g8 at 100 confuses me a bit. Slip reads:

r/t .809
60' 2.130
330 5.877
1/8 8.903
mph 81.72
1000 11.469
1/4 13.64
mph 100.56

I live in phoenix and it was about 75 degrees. I didnt have helmet so i didnt get to run again to improve time or have something to compare too. Thanks for any help.

trap speeds vary a lot in my 98 camaro bone stock it ran 13.2s @99.5 to 100.7 i mean paper air filter stock i was happy with the time but all my friends were running 13.4-13.8s @ 102-105. basicly it comes to this some times you get there to fast to build up speed lol but trap speed isn't very important in a drag race so don't let it bother you it falls under a lot of factors like weight, power, traction, air so on .....

Not so much worried about trap speed, but how to improve over all e.t. and how trap speed or other numbers affected my run.

2.13 60' is slow, seems like you really need a tune. My car is not "fast" by anybody's standards here, but through careful technique and finding the "groove", and trying to follow a big-tire car, I was able to grab a 1.94 60' with nothing but a Cortex tune. 2 tenths in the 60' would put you into the easy 13.30s, probably the .20s. With a VCM and catback, I'm sure you're running pretty damn lean, and need something to help the ECM compensate for all the additional air. With a tune, cool dry air, and good track prep, you should be able to go 13.0s or even high 12.90s. My routine:

1. Pull around waterbox, back up just to the edge (not in the water). Traction control off. When the starting line guys see you pull around, they should be nice enough to help stop you in time when backing up.
2. Shifter in Drive. Brake torque it for maybe 2 seconds and lift your foot off the brake and roll out, easing up on the gas. NO DRY HOPS!
3. Stage as shallow as you can to where you just light up the "Stage" light.
4. When you "see" (don't anticipate!) the second yellow, foot off the brake, and press quickly but smoothly to the floor on the gas.
5. Enjoy the ride. Look three times to make sure the tool in the other lane isn't going to T-bone you while pulling off the track. Stop at time booth. Smile and enjoy!
6. Repeat until they turn out the lights.

Your times dont look bad at all!!!! 13.6 for a pretty stock G8 without a tune is very good with all things considered... you mph isnt off too much but you may have touched the brakes a tad bit early.... I got a 11.3 with a mph of 80 something mph.... but it was cause I hit the brakes a bit early...

good luck and really your times look good!! but for sure the 60' times can be improved....
