What is the most reliable brand to get for a HID kit that work for the G8's? I know that the bulb is a H11 not the H7 that some sites list as. Also I have been reading that some of the kits say no accessory harness needed and some say that you might need one. Is that just for the 55w kits or do the
35w kits need them also? Also what color temp looks the best on the G8 that it looks factory?:beer3:

i have a 55w kit and love it....i chose 5000k which are pretty much pure white.

only problem im having is that the right side light doesnt light up half the time, but cycling the switch turns it on...not sure whats wrong

I think thats what the accessory harness is suppose to eliminate the need to cycle on and off to get full power. I hear this is common on the 55w kits.

Most of the kits are made by the same company and the different "brands" are different distributors. I'd get get the kit with the best warranty rep who will work to get any issues fixed for you (try to avoid one that will make you send your shit to china for warranty)

What if any advantage is there to a 35w 5000k kit to the 55w 5000k kit?

The higher the wattage, the brighter it will be. For an OEM look you want to go with 4300K or so. The higher up you go in temperature, the less light and more glare you will create. Higher temperature bulbs also are of significantly less value in rain, fog, etc. as they reflect off them more. Most OEM HIDs are 4000-4500K.

Here's the color charts I posted over "there"

I chose a 55w 6000K kit from ddmtuning with the accessory harness. Ordered it this week, but it's on back order. I will post info once it arrives.

Not trying to take anything away from any of the supporting vendors here, but i've had tremendous luck with Vision Bulbs and their HID Kits. I will be ordering my kit from them after my account recovers from buying the car.

I just installed this exact setup this weekend. Trust me you'll love it!!! Very nice kit and great quality. Just know that the passenger light (the light i installed last) had to be hooked up backwards to what would look to be normal. Meaning the connector inside of the dust cover that has a groove that looks like it has to be lined up with the post inside of the connector for the HID connector will be backwards.

Anyone here of euroeffects.net, they say there kits are made in Germany and assembled here in the good ol USA, a little more money but I do prefer somthing that costs more than 70-80$, to me for that price and for what you are doing it just does not sound right at that price, there kit is about 100$ or so more, you guys check them out and tell me what you all think of their unit if you will too please, thanks.

The best HID kit is the cheapest one. They are all basically the same and will eventually go out, so there's no sense spending too much on a kit that you will have to replace.

I just bought this set in 5000K and I should receive them any day now. I offered $75 and the seller accepted my offer with free shipping.

I've seen the euro effects kits and they are the same as the other kits that are cheaper and as the more expensive ones. I would go with one that has a lifetime warranty with it. They sure do look all the same. I am looking at getting one from ddm tuning soon.

Like mentioned before, it's really just a trial and error game. All kit's aren't created equall but they're damn near close. lol. Just find whichever one you think has the better reps and warrenty and go for it. I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.
