So i'm looking to get new door speakers because the factory one's suck and are blown already. I just need to know what size are the door speakers and what name brand yall recommend? Also are the speakers in the back 6X9's or 5X7's? thanks :uhm:

6.5" speakers....and I recommend Infinity 62.9i's with the 3db tweeter attenuation pressed on.
Back deck....8" subwoofers. Tight fit, need slim speakers.

Reason I asked is because which ever speakers you choose be sure to match the factory ohms. I helped install Call-Me-D's Polks and you will lose any increase in volume past about 35-43 volume level. I have the Infinity Reference 4ohms and they are crisp, clean and loud all the way through to max volume. Plus you don't have to worry about the center speaker mod.

Problem with changing the factory 8's are the factory amp won't push the the new speakers properly. Have you thought about adding a ten?

no I wanna go with 8's so I don't have a box with subs takin up trunk space, or will 10's fit in place of the 8's?

No, 8's are the only thing that will fit. You'll need to find some open air 8's and you'll need to get a better amp to help them reach their potential. I'm not familiar with open air 8's so I wouldn't be the best person for that question. I would think you would need a shallow mount speaker though. Check this link.

I installed Infiniti Kappas 6.5 components upfront and infiniti kappas 6.5 two ways in the rear...noticed a slight bump in sound performance with just the speakers, ended up having to go with my JL 4 channel amp for it to be as clear and as loud as I wanted.

so the stock head unit won't give the after market door speakers much kick? So your saying get an amp to push the two 8's

I don't have an amp on my door speakers and they scream. Some times the highs are too high. If you upgrade the 8's, you'll have to get another amp.

AAAHHHHH!!!!!!! i done a little bit audio work to my G8. REPLACED EVERYTHING!!!! (mistake #1) everything is Rockford Fosgate including door speakers, two 6 1/2 coax speakers in the rear, two 12" P1 subwoofers, two T-600 amp. , compasitor, and a yellow top battery in the spare tire area (mistake #2). Everything has worked fine....except for the two blown coax speaker....fried both amps...fried all the wiring... and almost burning down the car...(Mistake #3-15) i love music...and i love it loud....but that was too much money in the long run...coulda bought more performance parts! Oh and by the way....everything is through RF is a three year warrenty...sooo....experiment and continue to get new equipment....that is all...i think... 8l

Well....i have both my amps drilled behind the back seats. So the only way you can see them is whenever you take out the subwhoofers. I was driving and and all my highs went out and realized that a fuse burnt out....replaced the fuse and continued on. It did it again that same day! took the subs out and realized that the amp powering my highs was extremely hot. So the next day i drove to the sterio place that did the install for me. so...i was also playing music on the way to the place...(bad idea)... we both opened the trunk and a ball of white smoke came out... The amp started burning the black carpet that is behind those seats...but was that bad though. The end result was me having to get a stronger amp and then we created a bridge between the seat and the amp.

You didn't need a "stronger" amp at all. You just needed one that wasn't defective.
That said, I don't like Rockford Fosgate... or, really, almost any of the brands that other people here do (Kicker, Infinity, etc.)

i doubt that because i was having the same problem even after i got a replacement due to the warrenty. (meaning the overheating problem) when i went with the T-600, haven't had any problems since.
