People who live in Vegas

Well I'm getting out of the military pretty soon and wanted to see if anybody can give me some info on Vegas as a place to live. Crime? Good for kids? Jobs? Anything. Looked at some houses in north Vegas online, looks like i can get a lot of house for what i want to spend. Thanks.

What part of North Las Vegas? Have you looked into other townships like Anthem Highlands, Southern Highlands, Summerlin etc... Mountain's Edge should also have fairly new houses for a good price as well. Vegas is not just casinos and the strip, although it does play a big part in our community. I don't have any kids so I can't comment on raising them here. We have our share of crime as does any other metropolitan city. As far as jobs a large percentage of people like myself work in casinos. So depending on what you do currently for work you may want to research the job market since we do have a high unemployment rating. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Thanks. I haven't really looked at other areas yet. The wife wants to work at the casino as a dealer. I will probably try and get a job on Nellis AFB, the job i do now is all civilian there so i shouldn't have a problem. Its still up in the air right now just trying to get some shit figured out.

SincityG8 and myself live in the Northwest towards Decatur/215 maybe 10-15 minutes from Nellis AFB. Its quite out here and havent had any problems where I live.
