Invites Poll

After so much being said about inviting members from sites I figured I had to make a poll to see how most of you feel considering I invited at least 75% of you.

The invites don't/didn't bother me. I understand why it got their panties in a wad but personally I'm fine with it. It's nice to have options.

I don't see an issue with it, but I can see where board is coming from though. Rules ARE rules.

THAT being said, I am SO happy to be here and will only jump in to G8board to see what's up but I am pretty much over it now. :)

We need to act like friends here and help each other out not fight like the douche bags on boards.

It needs to be known that flaming members and vendors here isn't allowed. Other than that almost anything is allowed here. :) Oh yeah... Even posting up URL's.

That is the best way to put it, options. A lot of people dont have time to search out every option available, so I make it easy. I do not get a 100% return on my invites and it does not offend me at all. As far as the paying vendors on those sites, well what real support do they get? A banner and a click here? How does that help/sell products if no one is taking the time to install and give feedback to help potential customers make a decision? I have received over 100 invites to sites and I was never offended or complained. I really dont know why this has been such an issue when all I have done is help the G8 community.

It is funny how this is just like what happened on the GP boards. A lot of guys left for GPONA from ClubGP. Most ended up being banned from ClubGP for these same reasons and it all comes down to money.

I understand the reason they have the rule and enforce the rule.

On the other hand if the other site catered better for the technically minded and helpful type enthusiasts, then that site would not need to constantly feel threatened.

Voted option 1 and 4. 1 because, well that's self explanatory; I wouldn't be here if I didn't get invited.

And 4 because people shouldn't be caring if they were harvested from other sites anyway. Knowing about a site that also gives great information (and also has a lot less drama than another forum we all know) and has great members.

I understand why people get upset when folks are invited to join other forums, but I don't subscribe to their point of view. It's like asking them not to speak with someone- childish and silly. I enjoy discussing stuff with others and hearing what they have to say.

That really is my point. I have had 2 nasty PMs from members and 2 bans because of this. For all the great people I have met and become friends with it was more then worth it.

I had just bought my car and was checking out different G8 boards when I got the invite. I liked this site better right away, and it was also nice getting a personal invite. It's friendlier and people here really know what they're doing and considering the newbie that I am and all my stupid questions I haven't gotten too much shit. :nah:

I guess i missed out on all the drama "over there". If over there is where I think it is. So I'll probably be doing the drop in, from time to time.
