Anybody have a preference as to what would be a great all season tire.
(245/45/18) I was thinking about one of these two, BF Goodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S or BF Goodrich Traction T/A V. Plus these are not crazy in price either.:boxing:

By bro just put a set of BFG's on his Legacy GT and likes them a lot. I think they were rated above the Eagle F1 all seasons which are also VERY good.

Do you remember the model he put on his car?

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus are supposedly REALLY Good
or BridgeStone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position's . I'll be getting one of those two when I finally get my new wheels.

Ok he has the BFG Gforce Ultimate High Performance All Seasons.

They may be the Super sports you posted about.

It's 2º F outside and I am NOT about to go look!

I'm with you on the cold its only like 10 degrees here. :windy:I did a little more research and I am going with the BF Goodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S
I found a special on them $30 off the list of $165. Rated pretty high also are the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus and BridgeStone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position's like Steve said but they cost more and the ratings were almost equal. Plus they are all directional and I have heard that they can be loud when they start to wear down. They can't be any worse then the RSA's.:)

only problem is the BFG's do NOT come in a 19....i was bummed.

I got the goodyear eagle gt's(rated right behind the bfg) and I am very happy

If you've got extra cash, the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position is a fantastic choice. I'm semi-biased to Bridgestone, I've never been disappointed by their products.

Best bang for the buck i'd give to Avon M550AS.

If you are looking for a good all around tire. The Goodyear RSAs are on-sale for under $100 each. I have had RSAs on my last 3 cars. Living in New England, I never had any bad issues with them.

The RSA's are what I have on the car now and the aren't that great of a tire. Last time I look the 19" tires were going for $96 each and the 18" tires go for $237 defintly not worth the price for the ratings they get.

The RS-As are not very good tires. Only slightly better than Goodyear LS2s, which were the worst tires I've ever had.

I had Toyo Proxes 4s on my last car and they were good tires. Not sure if they make them in our sizes though.

I checked out Toyo's web site and the Proxes 4s come in the 18" but not the 19" factory sizes.

My buddies Civic came with RSA's and he complained from day one about them in the snow. That car got stuck more places than not!

RSA's=:puke:

He put on some new tires and BAM! He says it's AMAZINGLY better. Ride and traction.

Yokahama Advan S4. My experience is that Yokahama tires give a smooth & quiet ride and last. They are a little pricey but are very highly rated on the Tire Rack web site.

Sorry, I'll have to disagree. I have had RSAs on 3 cars. An 97 & 99 Z28 and now the G8.

I have also had F1 Supercars on my Vette. Unless your taking 1.0g corners, you won't feel any different.

The RSAs handle, ice, rain, snow, and heat real well, IMHO.

Living in New England, where the weather ranges all over the place. I have never had any issues.

They are! Sadly they are real budget busters! Total "Out the Door" Price $1,474.44 at discount tire up here. But, with all the weather in Seattle, the wet traction is remarkable. I have gotten 45-50K out of them on my last 2 Bonnevilles so WTF? :hang:

Well, I never thought I'd say this, but I just replaced my stock Bridgestones with Goodyear Eagle GT's. Yep.

The Bridgestones of course are summer tires, and were getting squirley on those 20 degree mornings. The threat of ice (not really snow) arises in Ga. this time of year as well, and I wasn't willing to sit around and wait for the big wreck. The Eagle GT's have a 440 treadwear rating, a far superior tread pattern these days, and were priced better than my beloved but uber-expensive Michelins.

So far they seem immune to soft-compound/ cold weather conflict, grip great and don't care if it is raining. I'm very happy with the improvement thus far.

Oh, yeah. I kept the Bridgestones, too. I have every confidence in them, at least when the weather is warm! Just not when its cold enough to effect their compound.

I'll keep you posted. Its nice to know the old Eagle GT's are indeed a thing of the past!

I dont think you drive your daily's like most of us do.I notice the difference even on an on ramp.I have had other tires on my last car to compare them to as a control.they are crap.Too hard.Even goodyear doesnt recommend them for high performance.

Paid a visit to Gatlinburg, Tn., which has very steep and curvy mountain roads in many places (for miles, where I went, in fact...). Lots of sharp hairpins, great fun. The Eagles were superb, in both dry and rain!!! Money well spent, no regrets.

Recommended!

tried pulling into the garage with the rsa's and could barely make it back in.. took me 5 minutes to move 6 feet even when trying to start in 3rd.. RSA's are really really bad imo

I have found RS-A's to be horribly average in the past. Good for large, heavy cars that face no serious maneuvering at all. Slow, straight-line, low performance applications in good weather. JMHO.

Both my 97 and 99 Z28s had RSAs. Drove them all year round. :windy:

Maybe they've changed the RS-A's, too? I just didn't have any luck with 'em. This is the first Goodyear tire set I have had since some came to me as factory stock in 1993. Real bottom of the line factory (cheaper for GM) tires, since then I have been dedicated to Michelin, until last week.

In NY, Snow 1 RS-A's 0, My wife stood there laughing as I could not move at all with any movement trying to get up a small incline in my driveway. As far as all seasons, if they made the good year triple tread in our size and speed rating, and I repeat this, they by far were the best all season in snow hands down. a little loud but they were unreal. Hence now the search for a winter tire wheel package. You by a 360HP 4 door performance car, yeah just I guess if you live in the North east, suck it up and get snows. Plus safer that way.
