2-3 Upshift Hesitation using DSC (Manual Shift)

Has anyone experienced having a hesitation or drop in RPMs while in 2nd gear at around 2100RPM before shifting into 3rd gear? I've been watching this for awhile in moderate acceleration. I'll be in 2nd gear and around 2100 RPM, there is a hesitation / stall feeling, the RPMs drop a couple hundred then start to climb smoothly again. It almost seems like the car is urging me to upshift into 3rd??? Any ideas? Thanks - Mike

How many miles do you have on the car? You might want to clean your MAF, you would be surprised how much that can effect your shift points. Usually with hesitation that is the first place I start.

Almost 15K. Thanks for the MAF suggestion. I hadn't given that a thought. I'll see if that improves the situation. Many thanks. Mike

By the way i have Manual mode hesitations... 2nd and 3rd gear are ass... converter kind of slips or something. I mean its MANUAL mode it should stay solid in gear. It just does not.. Its like in 1st gear, dropping the gas from high rpm it shifts to 2nd (even if it stays M1) and back to 1st with a huge compression brake. Kind of dangerous... I hate my tranny: no LSD, weird-ass gearing, horrible lag when switching selector, plenty of converter slip, only 5 gears, high-ass 1st gear.. bla bla

My second gear flares in manual sport shift mode only under normal driving.Hard accel it doesnt do it.Been like this since day one i got the car,new.

Sounds normal for stock tune to me

It's the dreaded transmission flair,mine is from 1st to second.There is a bulletin about this.

If your flare is 1-2 and the bulletin is for 2-3 then that bulletin doesn't apply to your situation.

Dosn't show up till driving for a few minutes when stone cold from sitting over nite, i will have to video it and postit.

a trans tune should fix you up.

A tune should cure this problem.

I’ve noticed my car has the 2-3 flare but only before the car is completely warmed up. Once up to full operating temp, I do not notice any flare. I’m thinking it’s just the way this tranny is since ite seems like everyone has a bit of this.
