After months of patiently waiting... the metamorphosis is complete! Over the past year I have been working on a plan for converting my G8 GT from a mild-mannered daily driver into a Road Course and Auto-X attacking beast. I put a plan together to modestly increase the power and tighten-up the handling without compromising the drivability and reliability. The car is still my daily driver, but it now has a new attitude.

52lb Injectors
Ported throttle body
Roto-fab Cold Air Intake

Drivetrain:
Camaro Differential w/3.45 Gears
GForce 1000 HP Race Axles
Transmission Cooler

Suspension/Brakes:
Pedders Track II kit with Super Car Coilovers

GXP Rear Diffuser

Wrenched & Tuned by:
Synergy Motorsports (http://www.synergymotorsports.net)

444rwhp / 460rwtq (@3596rpm)

A big thank you goes out to Rick from Synergy Motorsports (http://www.synergymotorsports.net) for performing all of the wrenching and tuning to make this project a success. Also, I would like to thank all of the sponsors who provided parts for my project (Pace Performance, Maryland Speed, GForce Engineering, Spohn Performance, PFYC, JHP, SOLO Performance, BMR Fabrication, Pedders USA, Crazy Paul, Maverick Man, Billet Prototypes, and GTOShiftLight.com).

And last, but not least, I would like to thank everyone on the boards for the help they have provided (directly or not)... I know I would not have done any of this if it wasn't for what I have learned from the G8 and GTO communities.

-Todd...

PS - Next round of mods are already in the works. Since I have the "go" taken care of, I figured I would work on some of the "show". I could tell you all my plans now, but that would take away some of the surprise of revealing it when it is finished.

Unfortunately I was not present for much of the install, but I was able to get into the shop before everything was wrapped-up to take some photos.

That's awesome Todd. Time to get out of the hotels and work that G8 around some corners.

That's. Nice list there Todd. You dropped some coin. Any interior shots? What are your plans for the car in the future, besides wheels.

good luck on your next round of show mods.
As I expected, I spent all weekend with the hood open... after not dressing-up anything I felt a little embarrassed. It will be fun to figure out how to complement the performance with some looks.

Ah, I wish! But, not that I really needed another reason, I'll be really glad to be back home!

You dropped some coin.
True, it wasn't cheap... but including the price of the car, still less expensive than a CTS-V.

Any interior shots?
I need to take a few with the gauges, but here are some before they were installed...

Just some minor things to "clean-up" the outside, but nothing too extreme... I like the concept of a sleeper. There are a few more suspension parts being produced that will go onto the car. I'm sure I'll find something to change... the mod bug is a hard disease to fight!

The roto fab radiator cover is the best thing for under hood... It makes a world of difference.

I fear you may regret the 3.45s
I know I've only been driving the car for a few days, but I'm quite happy with the 3.45s. I've not had her on the track yet, but the shifts at WOT feel great all the way into 5th gear. The gears also make the car feel much lighter for daily driving... and I was still able to get 28.3mph on a 35 mile drive at an average of 55mph (65mph freeway plus some around-town).

I've been reading the posts regarding Magnacharged cars with the 3.45 gears. I would agree that the low-end torque combined with the taller gears makes off-the-line traction very difficult. I know that without traction control first gear is totally useless (unless you want to make clouds of smoke). For hooking-up at the drag strip, I'm sure this is an issue... but I like the idea of actually using all of 4th gear in the quarter mile.

One of my reasons for going with the 3.45s (besides being the stronger Camaro unit) is the way I will be driving on twisty roads (and in some regards at Track Days). The main thing being the change in speeds for the 3-4 gear shift at non-WOT situations. Looking at the video footage and data I've logged, it seems like having the 3.45s will better complement my driving style.

Who knows, in the end I might go to the 3.27s... but for now I'm very happy with my decision to do the 3.45s.

My front sway bar end link is in pieces. Oh well, I guess I found the next weak-point in my suspension. More parts on order!

Not where I thought it would fail. I would have thought it would fail right at the connection of the shaft to ball joint housing.

I just got my BMR endlinks, but still need to get them installed. Very high quality pieces.

I ordered the BMR pieces... much beefier than the stock ones. I also like the spherical rod ends (rather than just a ball pressed into a plastic cup).
