All of us have different ideas what the G8 should be to us. Lets hear you long term plan for mods and in your opinion when enough is enough.

Mine is just to get the damn thing right now... http://forum.grrrr8.net/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Since I am leasing it and it's a company car (my families business) I will be doing limited things to it. I already have M/F full exhaust, VMS HSRK, and a New Era CAI. I will also add a tune of some sort (not sure yet which one) probably HPtuners but maybe VMS. I will be doing some of the "GRRRR8" mods as well of course. Hoping to get it close to 400hp at the crank.

If I buy out the lease at the end then mods are endless... lol

400 at the crank will be easy. Good tune and CAI will prolly push you past that

I would like to get closer to 500 at the crank.

I'm looking to have a really clean looking ride, with just enough HP to keep some people honest.

About the same for me, except I want to break their hearts!

I'd like 425 to 450 at the wheels.

I will be doing some suspension work, probably a Pedders Street II.

On the GT, some interior trim mods followed by Headers, Exhaust, CAI, GRRR8 mods should put the Gt @ 400hp. Then it's Pedders rear cradle bushing kit to get rid of a slight twist in rear...Then coil overs and more Pedders stiff bushings followed by twin inter=cooled turbos a year or two out, depending on how well she holds up.

I'd like to get The base G8 V6 to 300-325 but not much out for it yet...That I know of...However if the challenger cotinues to challenge, it might get a 427 project engine. In all it's enoght to keep the honey do's at bay LOL!

Cheers!

Do you have a shifter kart? Way back in the day I raced them too. Before shifter karts!

It's not a shifter anymore, I am going to get another one. My kids have a 5 HP one.

They still have a local track?

I plan to see how much I can do to the car myself. I have a feeling that, with off the shelf universal-fit parts, plus some shadetree mechanic work, I can get similar results for far less $$.

Some of the things I'm thinking of -> rod-ended shocks with coilovers and custom-rate springs. Parts will be about $500, but it should perform as well as any $2000 "bolt-in" system out there.

Also going to do my own CAI. All it is is ducting, and I've done it on 3 other cars. Should be pretty easy.

I also plan on doing some type of custom exhaust. Just a catback at first (getting rid of cats, of course), then buying some headers. Headers are one place that I just buy, instead of fabricate.

Tires of course will get upgraded. Probably the new Kumho replacement for the MX or perhaps something like a Bridgestone RA1. I'll be on the lookout for more economical track-only wheels that I can stick some R-compound tires on for lapping days.

Brake pads will get replaced with a Hawk or Carbotech street-track dual-purpose pad.

Transmission may get some reprogramming, though I'm not a programming guru by any means.

Lastly, I'll be running this at least a few times per year at autoxes and lapping days. My hope is to stick with a stock C5 Corvette on a road course.

When it's all said and done, mine will probably have every single GRRRR8 mod to date, full Kooks exhaust system, HSRK, Roto-Fab: CAI, radiator cover, fuel rail covers, and fuse cover - all in CF, U/D pulley, Ported Intake & TB, Pedders II suspension, Vig or Yank 3200 stall, DR Tires down the line, and tuned by my local tuner via HP Tuners. But that's not to say that I'm not heavily considering the FI route!!
