I did not cut mine in half, but removed the center section so I could put in mesh. The best way to cut the cover plastic is with a custom hot knife. They are easy to make from a soldering iron. Here is my past post about how to do it.

I might be biased, but that cover is by far the best I've seen on here

Great Job Mike!

#1. I'm not that talented or patient....

#2. My split cover design was done out of necessity. Leaned cover against house when changing CAI and it blew over and cracked! Would have bought Paul's covers but liked my results...

I would love to build these as a business; however, the cost of the parts and the total time to do it would make the cover about $1000.00. So, I don't see that happening ;). It is easy to do if you take your time. Make a hot knife out of a soldering iron. Take your time cutting and sanding the edges. the paint is easy to do as well. You can use wrinkle paint as I did if you lay down enough primer to protect the plastic first. The only hard part is fitting the mesh, which takes a lot of recutting to get just right, and the custom aluminum brackets must be sized and bent correctly. You also have to find the mesh. I had some left over from another project. I don't know if RaceMesh will still sell sheets of it. The badge is also easy, just cut a piece of flat aluminum stock in the shape of the badge. Drill and bevel a hole in it to use so a flat head screw will fit though it to attach to the mesh. After that is attached just adhere the badge to the aluminum. I will be happy to answer questions if any one is going to attempt to do a cover like this.

So how much do you want for it again ? lol I don't have the cutting skills or patience to do this, i'd probably get mad and throw it against the wall at some point. If you ever decided to try and do another and sell yours I will be here waiting. Plus I now see you finally sold your car, congrats. You have to sell it with the cover ?
