Nothing special. Most of us just do our own work on our cars. What are your plans for your car?

My G8 is my daily too. Still didn't prevent the mods from happening to it.

Some people meet up at the Sonic on Cowan on occasion. But the quality of folks who go there is pretty broad. Every once in a while you get some decent people there. Most of the time it is just young cocky kids who are too busy talking smack instead of having a good time.

Yeah I saw a whole bunch of cars there a few weekends ago. Ever go to the dragway?

I was in Pascagoula for a year back in 06-07. I didn't have my G8 obviously but we used to go to bike night on Wednesdays in Gulfport. We were there right after Katrina and it was still pretty bad. I like the Beau Rivage (sp) casino. It had just re opened and we would go up to the roof of the parking lot and hang out. Awesome views.

Mine is the only Stryker G8 that has a bigass intercooler in front and lopes at stoplights. If you didn't notice either of these then it probably wasn't mine. On another note, I did drive it on the Seabee base this morning for about an hour. I seen a black GT near where I live I OS earlier today. What color do you have?

That sounds good but I must warn you. I have a VERY infectious mod-bug that I carry around. Many a tens of thousands of dollars have been spent by other people because of them getting bad ideas from me.

What mods does the Cobra have? I started out tuning Fords with SCT, as well as a few other things, so I go pretty far back with Ford horsepower. I cannot say that I am a "Ford man" but if I were to claim any single make of vehicle Ford would be it for me. Are you on SVTP or Modularfords? Your car list looks familiar for some reason.

Yeah i have a SCT chip, sponsored by Chris Johnson before SCT way back when. I was vortechcobra97 on the ford boards... was very involved around 2003-2005 while I was on shore duty, car hasnt moved much since.. its a fully built street strip car/ s-trim, only thing stock is the cams LOL.. just put a new motor in it during my last deployment, guy went out of business had trouble getting the motor from him and it will make 450 one pass and then 310 the next... nobody can figure out why, i really dont want to tear into the motor again.. im just ready to get rid of it. I just traded in a 2001 Z06 vette for the G8..

If it is making that amount of power difference between each dyno run then that doesn't seem like something mechanical is wrong to me unless it is a boost issue, but those usually aren't intermittent like how you describe. That sounds like a tune issue. Also maybe I am not hearing things right but did you say fully built 4v minus the cams and only putting down a max of 450rwhp? On what psi, AFR, spark advance? While the Vortech S trim isn't a big blower by any means it will still squeeze out a good amount more than 450rwhp on a built stock cammed 4v before the blower is out of steam.

yeah the tuner couldnt figure it out, it makes about 12-14 psi usually but wasnt making much boost the last time. The fuel system is holding things back from what I was told. I wasnt around much when they were trying to tune it due to me being at sea. I dont know much about the tuning aspect of things. Somthing I would love to learn one of these days. Heads were ported flow about 300cfm. Inake was matched, 20 over flat top CP Pistons. Maybe you could check it out? I think its the tune to cause its a dog and unless you lay into it full throttle. If you want my number is 757-254-6176 my wife works nights so I am free anytime.

Who was the last person that actually tuned the car? It is too bad that you weren't around when it was getting tuned otherwise it would be much easier to attempt to assist you troubleshooting what happened in the tune, and what your tuner was logging and modifying when he was tuning. If I were you I would take it to another tuner and have them start out 100% fresh on it. I have allot on my plate right now, including preparing for another deployment, so I would not be able to help you with your tune issues for the foreseeable future. I have a close friend of mine who owns and runs a performance shop out of Birmingham, AL specializing in forced induction modular Mustang tuning who could take care of ya though. PM me if you want his contact information.
