all the talk is 17s and 18s. What is the downside of the new 20" DRs?

The sidewall is so short it cant wrinkle or flex.

20" would have a very minimium side wall . The more sidewall you can have the more it can flex, giving you better bite.

Plus, I think the only DRs in 20" I've seen are the Nittos. From what I've read, they are not a serious DR.

Like everyone said, the sidewall is the biggest thing. A lot of people were amazed my Impala would light up the 22s with the 295/25 Pirelli. It's actually easier because there is no give in the sidewall.

The guys at one of the local performance shops (You should know, Murrarys) said that people were twisting wheels with the 20" drag radial. I have a hard time believing all that though.

Super Chevy did a test on them and said they were great. Unfortunately the test vehicles were 2 trucks. Matt from Tune Time was mentioned in the article, I believe he supplied one of the trucks..

The sidewall issue makes sense. Thanks guys.
