Hey guys,
I'm having VMS port my intake and would like a recommendation on where to have my throttle body polished? Any help would be great.
Thanks

Any issues anyone has come across? Do I need to change my tune or anything? Possible to lose power?

No issues here. I did not make any tuning adjustments for the throttle body.

Jeremy Formato is the master (Fasterproms). You can get by without a tune but a tune can maximize it.

Should l get the Intake done by Jeremy also? Stage 1 or 2... my current mods are listed in my sig. Also about the tune, VMS said i wouldnt need to retune. However I want to get the most out of it... Not sure if they offer these upgrades? Anyone know?

yeah how much hp gain is estimated with a ported throttle body with a good tune? how much with a ported intake manifold with good tune? and most important figure how much for both with a good tune?

A ported TB isn't going to increase HP. It improves throttle response. If you search, you'll find dyno sheets.

Got mine ported at New Era. They did a great job and reasonable cost. You get better throttle response or snap off idle with it.

I'm going to be honest here.
I wouldn't bother with it. I did it to mine and didn't see any change. That goes for the intake too.
Save the money and spend it elsewhere.

I had my tb done by a reputable shop in Houston and I agree.
You're better off buying a tank of premium.

I agree minimal improvement for the cost. I would not do it again.

had mine done by lonnies performance. they cnc ported it.
a ls3 tb is also a good upgrade from the stock one. i didnt really feel any major hp from it but the throttle response was a big improvement.

I had my intake and TB ported by Fasterproms. I would agree that there isnt much improvement on a stock or bolt-ons car but with a cam it makes more of a differance.

I AGREE with everyone else. I didnt see any hp or tq gain. In fact im telling you this from personal experience you have to watch out who does ur porting and polishing of the throttle body. I had mine done from a known shop here in KY and they p'd and p'd mine to much. Our throttle bodys being drive by wire are sensitive and mine threw a p0507 code and if its cold the car will die out. I didnt lose hp or tq but it did idle hard and would die out.

LS3 TB = L76 TB
It's the same 90mm throttle body.

not the same i had both in my hands the l76 vs the ls3 one. totally different designs.
the location for the plug is also different and the actuator is larger. the throttle place location is not the same. the stock one has a silver throttle plate. other one has a brass. the ls3/ls7 throttle body plate located further back. its machined better. its also more offset then the l76 one from the opening to the outlet.
the ls3/ls7 tb its also physically heavier.

I found several other options, Jantzer ls3 and Shaner s2. The Jantzer is 89.99 and the Shaner was 125, both with exchange. New ERA has a ported resin like shield that goes into the throttlebody and acts as a ported inside. I am not sure if it will fit the LS2/ls3 throttle bodies-I wrote to them to ask. They also have a resin spacer plate to attach to the intake and throttlebody adding area to the plenum.
I like what people had to say about Jantzer, the work "looked" good on his website, other forums mention him in the good light, 89.99 and 13 to ship sounds pretty good to me.
I will let you know what I decide to do.
