what oil is in the G8 GTs from factory?

Do they come with Mobil 1 5w30 in them...factory fill?

I am switching to AmsOil at 1000 miles, so I need 9 qts and a filter?

I believe it's just dino. Dino is usually recommended by most engine builders for a complete breakin. The ones I have talked to and researched will even remove the factory filled syns and run dino for 3-6 thousand miles. I am going to 6 thousand miles and then switching. 80% of my mileage is highway.

As opposed to other info:
(2) All LS2 (Car & Truck) and L92 Truck Initial factory fill = Synthetic. L92 Truck & LS2 Corvette/CTSv Applications REQUIRE Synthetic for Service Fills. LS2 GTO & LS2 Truck applications DO NOT REQUIRE Synthetic for Service Fills.

I'm gonna change oil at 1000 miles......and again at 3k and replace regular with AmsOil.

Yeah I changed mine at 130 miles and then at around 800 miles and will change it at around 3000 miles and then I am good to go. I am WAY anal about it, but better that way than the other IMO. My car was made in June and I got it in October so the oil HAD to be changed IMO. Plus I broke mine in the www.mototuneusa.com way.

Day 1 thats probably what it had in it. You'd have to read the Pontiac 06 GTO Owners manual to find out what oils can be used at service time.
