At some point, I'm going to need a #4 from the first photo. Do you have a part number? Thanks!

I wonder if the center stack bezel would fit the G8.

#4 to definately fit a G8 is 92218486

#4 above is 92257257 It seems that is the same as our G8 except it is a cover and not a grill since the PPV may not have a center speaker, but like Paul said we won't know until someone tries it.

Now that i have a rest vehicle of my own I can do some test fitting once the parts are available. I'm half way there now since my radio is out and the dash is apart for a gauge pod I'm building for a HSV Triple.

92257257 Grille Asm Rdo (Ve1R) , Series 2 2011
is showing as about 1/2 the price of the previous 92218486 Grille Asm Rdo (Veve)

Greg@PacePerformance

OK so you do show it as a grill. Hmm maybe it is a different color to make the part number change.

Edit:
What are you showing for cost on that one Paul?
Ours is $29.93 dealer cost. Just wondering :)

Crazy Paul

92257257 less than $18

What is the benefit of upgrading to the PPV center stack (if it is possible???)

Some are wanting to put the HSV E3 parts in that have the touch screen. Chis White says he might be able to program it for the US if he can get his hands on one.

Instead of trying to buy the factory radio for this conversion, I would love to use the Independent HVAC Controller with an Aftermarket Radio on this center stack.

Just a thought.

Well, there is already a big time thread going on on that and I agree, but I love the look of the stock unit on the new VEs.

I meant using the new VE center stack and not the current one we have.

I have read through the whole thread for the HVAC Controller, I will be buying one soon.

Hopefully the prices come out for this center stack soon.

Does the radio faceplate from the PPV plug into the g8 radio?

so the alternator should bolt right in and plug up and work the same way as the original alternator? just a good upgrade for the future.

I would be interested in the brakes for this... seems like they should have bigger brakes like it says the rotors are bigger.... wonder if they will have brembos? mutipiston calipers? fit our wheels? hmmmm

9C1 Undercover Car (not sure on this one since the pic is RHD)

What kind of idiot designs an undercover version of a car that only the police can buy...

It makes as much sense as having an undercover cop open carry and pin is badge to his hat.

From what I see the brakes are not Brembo, just a larger cast version.

That is funny. I never thought about it like that.

LOL yeah GM is once again making another (in a long string of them) mistake when deciding on "ONLY FOR LEO" status of the this vehicle. Seriously, how many "undercover" versions will GM sell to off set the cost of design and bringing them over to the states? GM wake the F' up already!!!

They're called undercover cars as that's the term for pursuit rated non-patrol vehicles. They are used by detectives, administration & other government uses where you aren't going to transport prisoners, lightbars, cages, switch boxes, etc (& don't want to be driving around in black/white marked car. They have a decent rear seats & interiors, rather than ones designed for prisoners. We purchase as many of those as we do patrol cars. So it's common sense to do that & pretty much doubles the amount of vehicles they can sell. Those cars also hold more resale value for departments. They aren't used for undercover work as you think. Narcotics & such use leased vehicles of all types for that type of work. That way you can get different cars all of the time to keep them from being burned. Believe me, criminals aren't the brightest. It's amazing how just driving an unmarked squad (no markings or light bar), people don't notice you. I've been flipped off for going the speed limit & had people try to race me in the blacked out Charger. Mind you, it has tinted windows, but has lights & cage inside. Those are always amusing stops (at least for us). :)

@m1tankr.... you kind of made my point...

The blacked out charger, or the unmarked b4c or the p71 with out lights looks like a civilian vehicle and so does not stick out, and allows you to sit by the side of the road and catch speeders more efficiently, or blend into a crowd of vehicles on the highway, or allow you to park in a bad neighbor hood and leave without the car drawing the attention of being an unoccupied police car. The new 9C3 will still be spotted a mile away by anyone halfway observant...

If they are going after the P72 market, fine but that is the municipal vehicle market, not the undercover cop market, and requires slightly different upgrades.

I also get the same reactions in an unmarked Crown Vic. People aren't that observant. It's not really used for undercover ops. It's used for the other half of the times you want the capabilities of the pursuit rated vehicle w/more comfort & to be less noticed. It's a smart move on Chevy's part as they can double the vehicles they sell without having to market it to any additional people. Also, if you can get the administrators in them, they'll be more likely to buy them for the patrol guys. Plus, the Federal government isn't gonna buy marked squads for the Federal agencies, so this also gives them another market. It'd be nice if the sold them civilian, but I'm guessing this has more to do w/testing the waters. Also, I think the new CAFE mpg rules give exemptions for government law enforcement fleet vehicles. Also doesn't help that the market for full size RWD vehs has been disappearing.

I typically can spot most unmarked cars by the permanent plates and blacked out windows, since anything under 35% is illegal except for LEO's.

I always slow down a bit when I see a blacked out sedan, especially if they are not moving.

Wonder if the PPV has a suspension upgrade package, and what it consists of.

92258220 comes up as more than double the price in AU as it does in USA.
Greg is your man for these.
