Found this YouTube bit on the LSX 454 on the Australian LS1 site. The ultimate G8...620 HP naturally aspirated and will turn 7000 RPMs. I could see someone knocking on the door of 1000 HP with FI...A 1000 HP G8:woohoo:

You would be knocking on much more than just 1k hp with that and FI. Heck, when built to withstand the stress a 6.0 LSx engine will see 1k rwhp with FI.

Damn that's a bad ass motor! I would love to have a old muscle car with one of those in it.

Here's kind of an interesting read. Some local guys here have reverse engineered an LS1 to make new aluminium LS 454's.

(Word on the street is, the first few prototypes split the blocks open.)

That's not good.

I saw this motor in a GTO, I believe on LS1tech. I think he ran 10s right out of the box.

I see a fuel injection upgrade coming soon, should be interesting.

That would be a little difficult with a standard f1. Perhaps with an F1A or an F1R. Its possible with a standard F1 but you would waay overspinning it to move that much air

hehehehe. Look at my post a little closer that is an I not a 1. Hehe. I do agree that it would be best to use an F1A or R to get to that point if a person decided to go with FI (forced induction) on a car like this.

The turn key crate engines are $13K - $16K depending on HP. HP range is 600-700.

You can also get just the LSX 454 block.

Someone more knowledgeable than me on this stuff (which is about any of you) please comment. But from what I've read, this block would be compatible with our heads, intake, etc. So it's possible to switch out blocks and do a DOD delete cam for a nice N/A HP result. Obviously cost a few $$$ as well to do this if it's possible.

Lingenfelter can build you a motor for those prices using your current block.
